actually the Urban Layout of CBDs of MANILA like BGC, MAKATI, ORTIGAS and EASTWOOD are inspired with AMERICAN DOWNTOWNS from wide walkable sidewalks to its modern environments blended with greenery and open space. it really looks like MIAMI mixed with CHICAGO. also BGC is one of the modern and well planned CBD in SOUTH EAST ASIA along with SINGAPORE.

If you still have time to visit other places in the Philippines, you should try checking out Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar in bagac, bataan which is not that far from manila. The place is pretty much full of hundreds of years old Filipino houses. You can also stay in one of the houses there for accomodation.

Amazing the cat likes to be petted even by strangers. I like BGC because it's friendly to cats and dogs. Lots of tourists love it especially the European tourists they pet them and the cats are friendly, too.

I live nearby and 20 years ago, this was just a plain fields where international concerts used to held there in the tent. This was also our jogging area, no trees and buildings yet that time 😅 so I literally see how this city turned into one of the metro Manila’s finest business district.

There is a couple who is a vlogger also,, they showed in their vlog once a tour to a three units at BGC. They were a family of four people. Prices ranges to 140k to 180k php per month. Price depends of course on the size of a flat and how many rooms.

More of Venetian in Vegas which is similar to the Venice Grand Mall. There’s a similar one in Macau. Bellagio is more of a water fountain show. There’s one in Manila called Okada Hotel & Casino which also has an impressive water fountain show.

I actually like Makati's business district more than BGC, esp the restaurants and bars. Makati CBD for decades was already the modern, bustling area when BGC was still mostly an army and air force base. You might want to explore Makati City - the area where your hotel is, more esp on the weekends when there's food markets open around the exclusive villages dotting the city.

Have never actually been to the BGC and have been to the Phils 7 times. Always stayed in Alabang or over by MOA. Will be in Manila early next month for the World cup, staying by Moa then moving to Alabang and finally for the first time staying at the Shangri-la in BGC.. looking foward to it. Have been to the Venince mall... didnt really like it 🤷‍♂️

BGC is not in Manila. It's in Taguig -- a city on its own 2X the size of Manila. The correct location is BGC, Taguig, Metro Manila. "Metro Manila" (or more formally, the NCR) and "Manila" sound similar but they are not the same. Manila is just one of many cities in the NCR. Taguig is another one but it is just as valid.

It looks very nice to spend a day or an evening out, but not my specific taste for a place to live. Which area of Manila is recommended if I want a nice middle class area to live with low-rise buildings, affordable local markets and restaurants (i.e. ZERO McDonalds or Taco bell!), kids playing outside, where the neighbors all know each other? I am retiring soon and the Philippines is on my list of places to visit, to see if it's right for me. All the people I've ever met who come from there are wonderfully kind and caring.
