I love Ben but I hate how overplayed Diary of Jane is. Great song but it overshadows some other amazing songs! "So Cold", "I Will Not Bow", "Polyamorus", "Medicate", heck the entire Saturate album is criminally underrated!! Caring, generous and giving. We talked a lot via Skype. I miss him every single day. When I read the news in the net I was shocked, I knew he had lots of problems, but never expected such outcome. I think Greg did not too. he had plans to travel to Europe, to Chech and Poland and we were supposed to meet after Dimash's concert in Prague. Losing him is hard. I like your idea about ABC of music but... really any kind of music? Like classical too? And ant performer from any genre from any part of the world from any period in history? Where have you been? I just finished watching your first reaction to Dimash when he sang SOS. So glad to have you back. Your insight on the videos is awesome. So sorry about Greg loosing someone is always hard I’m going through the same thing and I find myself talking to him. And I tell him that I’m mad at him for leaving but that I forgive and it’s ok. Doing that helps me . But anyway I’m glad you are back.

The boys are in their late teens I think, they started at like 14 or 15. They’re all Maori, and all the people in the video are as well. Their goal is to keep the language and culture alive by exposing as many people as possible to it. The old guy represents Tumatauenga, their god of war. It’s supposed to be a representation of an attack on a village (the guy shouting at the beginning is saying “War party! War party!”) that then gets defeated by the gods.

I'm sure Greg is just loving this tribute to him, Matt--I swear I can almost hear him saying, "I TOLD cha!!!" LOL Thank you for letting others know about his crossing over and sharing this wonderful tribute to him. He'd be grateful of it, I'm certain. May I suggest something kinda different for the "G" category?? Having played trumpet thru college, I just adore the shininess, the brilliance of brass. And this group was really rising to fame in the mid 70's when tragedy struck and several of the band members, including the founder, Bill Chase, were killed in a small plane crash. I LOVE their combination of rock and jazz. (Maynard Ferguson, the trumpeter who did the theme for "Rocky" was another who excelled in blending these 2 genres.) These guys are telling the story of when the so called “New Zealand musket war” began, even with enough digging I’m not sure if they are all of this tribe but they definitely are not new to this type of work/entertainment it comes naturally, before the muskets came to NZ it was just “land wars” so muskets we’re introduced upon arrival of the English, this lead to a race for arms, tribes were trading portions of land, slaved tattooed heads ect for arsenal of muskets. In the chorus of the song he basically says “this is the work of tumatauenga” (god of war) that was our only explanation for back than, the gods are punishing us. The bands name “alien weaponry” explains itself 😁 these boys did a very good job incorporating Maori history into metal in my opinion if there was a genre that best described Maori in battle it would be metal.

Before I became a dear of Dimash I was a huge fan of Gotthard, a Band from Switzerland There are a lot of songs which are very good.... they have two eras because they lost their first singer in an accident Steve Lee Since 2010 they have Nic Mader as singer an their “second first” album they called firebirth And an idea for D(imash) some song when he was a lot younger!!!

Every Maori is affiliated to a tribe. Usually more than one. The singers are also Maori, and the actors in the video are their family. You are correct in that one tribe dominated with muskets, but Maori just got inventive and created trench warfare.
