There's something oddly charming about the brightly colorful and rudimentary aesthetic of D0S games like this, and I can never seem to recreate it in my own art. I think a big part of it is when there's a black background, because the Neon World in Yume Nikki feels similar to me

found on a shareware disk i've had lying around for years and have no idea where it came from (for real). is it just me, or does "help" and "please" sound more desperate each time?
