It was an honor to fight beside the men I did, for the cause that we did. My men are the hero’s, I wish I could say their names on here so more of the world knows them. Charlie 3rd Platoon, you’ll always be my family. I love you guys

This guy seems eminently likeable and I envy anyone who's found something passionate to direct their life toward. I admire him. But he says "...to preserve independence. To preserve democracy", and there's some holes in that thinking. Nothing here exonerates Russia. Ukraine deserves autonomy and self-direction. But ethnically Russian ( Russian speaking ) citizens, mostly inhabiting the Western Donbas region and Crimea wouldn't tell you that Ukraine respects their independence. And they've been mired in violence over it, for a decade. To the second point, as of 2023 democracy has been indefinitely suspended in Ukraine, by the Kyiv government. No elaboration required on that point. Again though - Hunter seems like an impressive guy. He's obviously committed to doing what he thinks is right. He's an honest broker and we're lucky to have him. All the best to that soldier.

Most Ukrainians speak Russian. Soldiers currently fighting on the front speak Russian. Just because some ethnically Russian citizens of ukraine want to be a part of Russia does not mean that russia has the authority to invade and "liberate" them

Here is what the media wont tell you, because they constantly distract you. I've been following this conflict since 2014, yet the media has you believing this began in 2022. The legitimate Ukrainian President is Viktor Yanukovych. It all started when he tried to establish closer ties with Russia over the US. This was hampering US's long time agenda of trying to surround Russia with Patriot Missiles. But its easy to see that such missiles can easily be outfitted with nukes. To make a long story short, there was a vote in Ukrainian government to remove the President. He survived the vote. That's when all of a sudden the "protests" happened and groups like Right Sector and AZOV appeared out of nowhere and highly organized. The President had to flee in exile as there were attempts on his life and his political party. Ethnic Russian-Ukrainians were targeted by ethnic Ukrainians and pushed eastward. It was basically an ethnic cleansing. Those that made it to eastern Ukraine decided they wanted autonomy and sought Russian protection and aid to defend themselves. The first US-backed puppet Petro Poroshenko mobilized the UAF to fight. From then on, it was a Civil War between Kiev and Eastern Ukraine. Kiev bombed and shelled civilians since, yet Kiev couldn't breach the Eastern Ukrainian militia separatists (DPR and LPR). When Zelensky became the next puppet, he upped the ante. If you want to talk about freedom, what freedom come from banning all political opposition within government making yourself into a de facto ruler? Plenty of men and women of opposing parties were ended up bludgeoned to death and their dead pics posted on Ukrainian social media for laughs. A ban on everything Russian, even the Russian language. If you play a song on your radio thats from a Russian artist, you can be reported and arrested. Where is the freedom in that?

@@damnedwokester3030They wanted some level of regional devolution since 1994. They were being attacked, post 2014, by battalions of Banderites committing a great many war crimes documented by Amnesty International. Russia could have taken Ukraine then, and Putin was under pressure to do just that; instead he chose dialogue and diplomacy. Ukraine broke the Minsk agreements and made clear its hostility towards the Russian Federation and Russia in general. The people of Ukraine didn't seek NATO membership when George Bush insisted on bringing them into the alliance at the 2008 Bucharest NATO Summit. In 2019 Zelensky was elected to negotiate peace and end corruption - he did neither. Except he almost did in March 2022 until Boris Johnson told him that his paymasters wanted the war to continue. Ukraine has been hijacked and instrumentalized by bad actors (literally, lol). Over 12 opposition parties have been outlawed, trade union rights curtailed, media has come under state control, battlefield soldiers have been stripped of legal rights.
