One correction….this is Grimsley’s 9th NCHSAA state championship in school history. It is their second under the Grimsley name. Originally opened in 1899, it was called Greensboro Senior High until its name was changed to Grimsley in 1962. Under its former name, GHS won/shared seven state championships between 1934 and 1960. GHS also won pre-NCHSAA state titles in 1907, 1908 and 1909.
