I once dreamed of living in Arizona. Not anymore, not now that it’s truly become a police state. All of the states are bad (unfortunately), but some are FAR worse than others. Arizona is one of those, and it doesn’t even have a good excuse - even loony Kalifornia isn’t as bad as fascist Arizona!

Wow. Thanks guys. I truly appreciate the efforts, hard work, professionalism, and dedication, you all put in to support, and inform the citizens of your community. In this day in time we need true reporters with real investigating that effects each one of us. I am sorry that a pilice department would try to do such a thing and that a city like Phoenix would go along w it. Dave B I don't know how yo spell your last name. But you are a true journalist. And have truly been a hero to so many. I always look forward to your reports. I miss real journalism and I know so many else do. We are blessed to have you in this city, and state.

The entire purpose of news organizations according to the first amendment is government accountability. Not only was reporting in detail the names of any government officials violating their oaths including the police, but allowing government to retaliate is what the first amendment is intended to prevent. I applaud your reporting and hard work on these stories and hope you continue to push back against these governmental abuses.

What a shocker! The City of Phoenix? I can’t believe they would do such things like waste taxpayers dollars on this issue. I recommend from experience that any dealings with the City of Phoenix that you keep any documentation on hand. Parking tickets,speeding tickets any fines you pay..keep the documentation. You won’t regret it..The City of Phoenix doesn’t give a rats a$$ what they did to that woman. A false imprisonment that denied her freedom for 2 years based on what? The word of a bad cop 👮♂️?

My cousin was murdered in Phoenix 10years ago - they caught a guy using his cell phone after the fact and the guy said " Oh, that guy ODed" and the Phoenix cops NEVER MADE AN ARREST ... just took his word for it.

There appears to be some serious problems in law enforcement as well in in the judiciary in AZ. As an outsider, I can guarantee neither myself, nor any of my employees, friends, or family will be spending any time in that state until some serious housecleaning is done.

This is so important for our democracy. This kind of corruption needs to be exposed and prosecuted. Lying cops need to go to prison for as many years as they cause innocent victims to spend in prison.

While I agree with what you said I will point out we are not a democracy. We are a constitutional republic. There is a difference and people need to be aware of that. That being said I agree with you. Police and lawmakers need to be held at a much higher standard because of all the power they are giving. They must be held accountable and punished for violating the trust that is placed in them.

This happened in Marion County Kansas, except the police department got a warrant, raided the newspaper building and reporters homes. The stress from the raid likely resulted in the death of one woman. So far, no one has been held accountable.

Think about this. Investigative journalism is going more for the taxpayers than the very people who are paid to serve the taxpayers. In fact, it’s the very public servants that journalism is protecting the citizens from. It’s great but our public servants shouldn’t be preying on the very people they’re paid to serve
