Gotta love the reporter calling out the "weak" pit maneuver attempts, however considering how many times LA County law enforcement has called off pursuits, we'll take what we get.

And its vecause they call off pursuits that people commit so many crimes in the first place.
@rkgsd10 ай бұрын
@@chadmargraf4020 But keep in mind the reason behind calling off more chases than before...too many innocent civilians getting injured and killed. There have also been lawsuits. The policy is similar in other cities, not just LA.

@@rkgsd yeah because the suspect do whatever it takes to get away, which is futile. And also, vecause people want to watch the pursuit, so when it comes their way, they come out o to the streets, putting themselves right in the line of fire.

@@rkgsd Recently I've been watching PIT videos from Arkansas State Police. Those Troopers do NOT play. They don't waste time driving halfway across the state before they PIT. They are highly trained and will PIT at 100mph. Trooper Byrd is the best they have, but other ASP Troopers are very good also. They demonstrate what can be done with training and a desire to get the job done. There were many areas of the roadway in this video where there was no traffic, but they didn't PIT. Weak policies.

Next time I visit Los Angeles, I feel like I am familiar with the city now thanks to all of the car chases I have watched over the past year. I know which freeways connect to which now. Until recently I was only familiar with I-5 because I drive on I-5 every day up north. I’m vaguely familiar with highway 101 having taken a road-trip from the PNW to California along the Pacific coast. These car chases are strangely addicting to watch. I really hope that the law makers do something to allow the prosecutors to put these people away for longer periods of time. The DA can only use laws that are currently on the books. Make some changes because this is craziness.

Which agency was this? West Covina PD? The LA Police Academy should use this video as an example of HOW NOT to pursuit a vehicle. That was absolutely terrible police work. As the chase ended, the cop stops his cruiser right next to the driver's window. That's a good way to catch a bullet if the perp is armed.

laws have to be changed, lawmakers, government, make the punishment 10 years in prison no early release, the crimes like this will not be committed ever, no matter what excuse in court, no pitty, no second chance, 10 years mandatory, 15 years for crashes. This can end, other Countries give stiffer time in prison and this hardly happens in some Countries. Change the Laws, give 10 years mandatory with no early release, they think it's a joke because of the quick out of jail time.
