SO if I bought a policy and paid for 15 years on FALSE information, then can I get my payments back! This is me being upset because my renters policy had a "loss of use" coverage, and the septic where I rented failed and the landlord couldn't fix it before the city condemned the apartment. And I lost my apartment. And USAA didn't help. Even though the policy says they will for upto 1 year of relocation expenses to resettle me into a like apartment in the event of something like that. It actually made me unhoused/homeless. And working fulltime was difficult, but I did it, but I did sleep outside on the bare ground for months. BECAUSE of USAA. Then the claims department had the nerve to tell me it wasn't their fault. WELL they weren't the safety net I thought I was paying into for over a decade either!!

Paid them for 40 years and got cancelled for being 3 days late with payment. Payment kept increasing monthly to 2X and I never filed any claims and live in a pretty safe area too. I was happy to see them go.

Yes in north bay SONOMA county also, same roof criterior. State farm sent out inspector, she knew nothing about the new risk maps, I had to tell her I was in a low risk category. Few months later, I also was sent a courtesy letter to clean the moss off the roof by a professional and send pictures to the insurer. Other neighbors in the county posted on FB that they had ins reinstated after roof cleaning but no one is mentioning if insurance cost had been raised.

Liberty Mutual, such a surprise! /s A non renewal, drop, or large claim holds the same negative weight against policy holders. It doesn't matter which company a policy holder goes to next for coverage, the policy holder is now shopping with that significant mark against their claims record. Now shifted to a high risk tier the policy holder will be paying for less coverage, at a significant increase.

The only good thing is dropping people takes some of their revenue away. You CAN do without home insurance if house paid off. Too bad BS laws make u have it when it isnt paid off. If someone is home all the time, and you live away from the coast, no flood zone, no earthquakes, no tornados, no trees close to house to fall on it, off a main road (no cars to crash into house), good fire safety in mind, no mold, good plumbing etc then you dont need it, chances slim of anything happening. Only issue is liability if some fool falls on your property or things like that. Never understood how someone elses mistake is my fault. Even if 100 % ice, well too bad, tiu can see the ice. Stay the hell off my walkway then or be careful.

0:41 i rent from my friend and ladt year had electrical fire .no piwer from oct 8 to april 5. State farm argued fkr months doing nothing then jan 19 pipes froze in very cold weather got down to -2 . They ended up not payi g fir anything but ser pro clean up which wasnt completey vleaned up and finally wiring . She was out for new havac and plumbing etc . Then state farm canceled her . And she paid way mire than thrm and i existed in freexing house with my digs and one buddy heater . i had state farm rental first said i could get alternative housing then yours only covers personal items in fire . The furemen messed ip mire kf my stuff than fire .and fire just ruined havac on one end of house snart meter on other and insulation in carport storage.

I would be shopping around for new insurance ASAP. I will note that clearing this up is actually important even if you don't plan on staying with the insurance company. If you are trying to shop new insurance they will see that you got dropped and they will likely not even give you a quote, so the policy being reinstated is important. And if they give you a quote you will probably have to jump through extra hoops to get anywhere.
