Well the victim has to file a police report first (which from previous video they said they were thinking of doing so, but didn't say they did it yet). Then they also have to agree to press charges (which not everyone agrees with). Then the evidence has to be reviewed and they have to find and identify the driver. Might be a low priority case however given the tow driver was not successful.

This is San Francisco. Law enforcement takes nothing seriously. They bragged on the news yesterday that they did a raid in the Tenderloin and seized hundreds of pounds of drugs and arrested over 40 wanted felons..... This wasnt some trap house that they raided.... these guys literally sell their drugs in glass jars set up right on the streets. I walk by them every single day with jars full of powders and clearly stolen merchandise from stores layed out on blankets everywhere. They bragged how competent they are when they literally just walked down a known drug street and took care of what everyone else has been staring at for years. Nobody respects SFPD and they deserve less than that. (in fairness the few times ive had run ins with SF police theyve always been great to me, but holy shit are they ineffectual)

Proving genuine fear for your life (and not just unmerited paranoia or bejng an entitled gun-owner) would be very difficult. Reckless, dangerous, endangering safety/well-being, and totally illegal? Definitely. But unless some additional evidence is uncovered that they were actually trying to take the people too, kidnapping seems like a pretty big stretch. I just looked them up on the SF superior court site and I saw a document signed by the owner, abigail Fuentes, where she calimed she cant pay a $4,000 judgment against her because she lives off $750 from calworks and food stamps. Her towing companies generate over 2 millions a year! You cant make this stuff up!

as a car shop owner, it's my experience that many tow truck drivers, especially independents, are shady and of a criminal demographic or like-minded. Our shop was moving, new tow truck driver approached us asking if we were selling any equipment, we made a deal to tow some of our cars to our new location in exchange for some equipment, we'll, they were quick to take the equipment, ghosted their end of the deal...then....we even have evidence that they came back and stole our moving truck full of our shop equipment...Covid hit a few weeks later, so then police/Insurance were not helping, I pulled cam footage from as many local cams as possible, eventually finding enough evidence, lic plates, vehicles, names, did background check, etc, weneven kept tabs on the criminal. Police again not interested, Insurance assumed we were framing someone, eventually they denied our claim saying wentook too long (it was covid)... but we've heard numerous complaints from customers about towing drivers as well... Which there are many upstanding independent reputable towing out there who get pushed under the bus by these criminals!!!!
