@mikky4712 a great piece of music, but there is no divinely inspired work outside of the 66 books of God's Word, the Bible. The Corinthians thought that their "revelations" were divinely inspired, too, and Paul had to set them straight on that error (I Cor. 14:26). Beside that, it's not known if Handel was even saved, he never said much about his faith. Concerning Messiah, someone gave him Scripture verses and all he did was write the music for them.
@SuzanneRobinetteАй бұрын
@@timothymiller1783oh my. Your response seems so legalistic and literal. Can’t you simply admire music that many find INSPIRING, if not technically “INSPIRED” in your view? I agree with you - no one knows whether or not Handel was “saved” according to your definition. And what is your definition? Do you imagine that “salvation by Christ alone” is a new concept?
@timothymiller1783Ай бұрын
@SuzanneRobinette it's not my view, there is no such thing as extra-biblical revelation, it's false prophecy. Today's definition of "legalism" is the soft Christian's get-out-of-jail-free card, it's easier than bearing a cross and adhering to sound doctrine. The Corinthians erred by claiming extra-biblical revelation (I Cor. 14:26). And you should read and heed I Tim. 2:12.

This is my all time favorite Christmas music. I'm surprised, however, at how many people don't know to stand up when this piece is being sung. The story goes that King George II stood up during the chorus at the Messiah’s 1743 London premiere. Nobody really knows the reason but a few stories go that he may have stood up to stretch his legs because The Messiah is 2 hours long. Others think that he might have been so moved by the music that he stood and in doing so the audience would stand up as well. At any rate, it is now customary to stand up during this chorus.

Watched the whole beautiful service. In the uncertain times that Americans are going through, it was so heartwarming to see respect, humanity and honour given to a very special Man. Felt that President Carter in a way was bringing Americans together. God Bless, stay strong🌻🙏🌹🇿🇦

I have sung this Handel's messiah piece for many years and i still love to see how others are working on this, and I am delighted to see this video, they don't have a big orgastra, but I love the energy and everyone sings right on the note and i like this tempo , I can hear both tenor and alto well, and I love the lower part of the bass, i had a great time listening to it, the only suggestion is to sing a bit softer and a bit gentle

Revelation 11:15 "The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdoms of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever".

This truly is the best performance of this piece on the entire platform. I tried to give others a chance, but this one with its projection, pacing, and superb talent brings it home. Plus my guy in the front row at exactly 1:00 , with the beard, makes my day. He's just having a blast
