Handel Messiah, Divinely inspired.
@timothymiller1783
@timothymiller1783 2 ай бұрын
@mikky4712 a great piece of music, but there is no divinely inspired work outside of the 66 books of God's Word, the Bible. The Corinthians thought that their "revelations" were divinely inspired, too, and Paul had to set them straight on that error (I Cor. 14:26). Beside that, it's not known if Handel was even saved, he never said much about his faith. Concerning Messiah, someone gave him Scripture verses and all he did was write the music for them.

@@timothymiller1783oh my. Your response seems so legalistic and literal. Can’t you simply admire music that many find INSPIRING, if not technically “INSPIRED” in your view? I agree with you - no one knows whether or not Handel was “saved” according to your definition. And what is your definition? Do you imagine that “salvation by Christ alone” is a new concept?
@timothymiller1783
@timothymiller1783 Ай бұрын
@SuzanneRobinette it's not my view, there is no such thing as extra-biblical revelation, it's false prophecy. Today's definition of "legalism" is the soft Christian's get-out-of-jail-free card, it's easier than bearing a cross and adhering to sound doctrine. The Corinthians erred by claiming extra-biblical revelation (I Cor. 14:26). And you should read and heed I Tim. 2:12.

Fun historical tidbit: During the Victorian era, there was a law that prohibited more than 100 persons from assembling for the purpose of belting out "The Hallelujah Chorus" How nice that law in no longer with us. I was once part of a chorus of well over 100 (around 300 of us) performing this song & it was magnificent.

This will always remind me of my mom. She would. take me to sing at Christmas in local chorus's organized for JUST this performance. Handel's Messhia is one of the most magnificent pieces of music EVER composed.

Absolutely amazing!! What a wonderful rendition ! This song makes me feel closest with God... Whenever I listen to this song I feel the presence of God... I'm from south korea. The song really stirred up the love of Christ in my heart... May the LORD keep us and continue to bless us... Thanks for sharing this beautiful hymn..

The word Hallelujah was originated to proclaim God in SONORITY. Handel wrote that he saw "the whole company of Heaven" as he wrote this music down.

This is my all time favorite Christmas music. I'm surprised, however, at how many people don't know to stand up when this piece is being sung. The story goes that King George II stood up during the chorus at the Messiah’s 1743 London premiere. Nobody really knows the reason but a few stories go that he may have stood up to stretch his legs because The Messiah is 2 hours long. Others think that he might have been so moved by the music that he stood and in doing so the audience would stand up as well. At any rate, it is now customary to stand up during this chorus.

This is how this should be sung. This is based on Revelation 19 with the Lamb’s triumph over Babylon The Great and is a song of triumph, a song of victory. Hearing tired church choirs sing this song robs it of its triumphant majesty. One of the best recordings I have heard.

Great performance , the most incredible fact is that Handel composed this in 1741 and it is still being performed all around the world and it will be forever ! ! I do not hear any popular music from 282 years ago , that's the reason they call it classical music ! ! !

I have sung this Handel's messiah piece for many years and i still love to see how others are working on this, and I am delighted to see this video, they don't have a big orgastra, but I love the energy and everyone sings right on the note and i like this tempo , I can hear both tenor and alto well, and I love the lower part of the bass, i had a great time listening to it, the only suggestion is to sing a bit softer and a bit gentle
