Theres double standards everywhere tho...a woman choses to keep or abort a fetus..a man doesnt have that right and yet has to yeild to the outcome(he cant even choose to have no responsibility for the child as if it were aborted which should be his right shortly after its birth) some men are stuck paying childsupport that were proven to not be their biologically because the courts want someone to hold that financial burden. In the US, boys are circumsized cause "its cleaner" or "it looks better" yet there is no chant about his body his choice. If we want to talk about double standards, we also have to be willing to take down the ones that hurt men or benifit women.

I hate when ppl use the pregnancy excuse bc girls don't impregnate themselves. I understand where they're coming from bc it's easier for the boy to walk away while the girl has to deal with judgement, abortion, adoption etc They have to make adult decisions even though they are still a child. We need to hold the boys just as responsible. My parents would and I'm grateful for that

@Ashton A Where does Diane live? Who’s responsible for Diane, therefore responsible for her baby? Now the boy that gets her pregnant... Where does he live? Not with Diane and that baby putting the SOLE responsibility on Diane and her family NOT the boy. We hate the real facts of it all but those are it. We approach girls about pregnancy because they are the ones carrying the child, they are the ones that are limited during that first YEAR( 9 months of sickness, fatigue, weight gain, swollen ankles, diapers,I could go on forever) They are the ones risking their lives giving birth dealing with complications and risk. Natural setbacks that only God can answer to not the government. THERES A DIFFERENCE! We need to stop making everything political and about fairness- this isn’t! It’s a simple fact with a million naturally warranted reasons why it is harder for girls.

Double standards are wrong no question. Now I think about it she had a point a guy can get someone pregnant and leave. Creating a continuous cycle of this for generations to come. Why do we not try to prevent this as much as a girl getting pregnant. Putting more responsibility on these guys more solve a lot.

My mom raised me with stricter rules than my brothers. At a young age I thought it was unfair but as I have gotten older I understood where she was coming from. When we "have the talk" it should be given to boys as well as girls. The conversation starts at home. Parents should teach girls and boys to not only respect there body but others as well. All we can do is teach them and pray they carry those teachings as they get older. This world is not easy and can be very judgmental and at times unfair. I read where people said dont put religion in it..maybe if we put Jesus in all that we do this world would be a better place! To love one another, respect one another, understand without passing judgment, and teach each other that just cause he's a boy or she's a girl the rules apply to both! We can't teach equality and not show what that means! Have a bless day 🙏 💖

Blackish can only get away with this message because Bow and Dre are being hypocrites. And I expect this of Dre but I don't think Bow would be so hyped about her son kissing someone. But there are lots of families that hold their sons to the same standard as their daughters, and I *thought* Bow was that kind of parent. And now that I think about it, didn't they do this exact same plotline a while ago with Junior and Zoey? Didn't Dre and Bow learn there lesson then? They even used the exact same "boys will be boys" line then and it feels just as non-subtle then as it does now.
@steph06143 жыл бұрын
I remember that episode too, and to me it just felt real. Parents say they’ve learned and they understand, but they don't. Not really. This is why the issue came up again with Diane and Jack. Every parent should be thinking of this because it really hurts to be compared to others, especially a sibling. My step mom used to compare me to my friend Cora, commenting how shes "Such an angel!!" While she critiqued what I was doing. And I can guarantee Cora was the worst influence on me out of all my friends. All because my step mom constantly compared me I felt I was never good enough. A lot of times I feel like adults dont take feelings into consideration. Like what we're feeling cant actually hurt us. If we aren't mentally stable, how do you expect us to function in society?? Is this how you were treated as a child? Do you want us to go through the same hardships you did from being treated the same way you were??
