it’s crazy how relatable Maya is here, this storyline is super important and it’s super important that we see her work through her childhood trauma and eliminate her toxic tendencies by going to therapy, it’s gonna help so many people
@BellesView
@BellesView 3 жыл бұрын
Let’s be real. Maya’s similar to her father but at least she’s gradually deprogramming the toxicity. Bring back the firefighter therapist. That episode was good. Maya, Jack, Robert, Dean, Travis, hell all of them need more therapy.

Yes. The writers need to allow each of them to address all their emotions deeper but in an environment that is neutral. Therapy is healthy, it’s allows you to decompress all built up emotions.

Maya discussing her emotions with someone is making moves forward to better progress. + I would like to see the writers implement mental health and tie that into Carina’s family history of mental health as well. Maybe even bring back the therapist that went to Station 19.

Yes. Want to see Maya do therapy. Her going to therapy is the only way I see their relationship succeeding. Or maybe an episode where her dad comes in and they have a conversation and for the first time in her life she feels free from him. I dunno.

Could relate to this with my parents being very controlling over every move we made. There was no drinking in the living room floor because my mom had an expensive Persian rug. My friends didnt know because we werent normally allowed to have friends over spend the night. I freaked was like you have to take the drink to the table. We couldnt get into a boat because my mom had this fear of us drowning even though took swimming in college with a life guard instructor. Would have to lie say going bowling, but would go get with friends go boating. I didnt like lying, but it was the only way to get around her do things on my own. So totally relate to this with my own kid have to learn to loosen the reins let him grow up to whoever he wants to be.

Maya is my favorite character ever, I also grew up with an abusive father and my biggest fear is being like him. I'm confused. If Maya feels this way about Carina invading her space, which she had mentioned in the last episode too, why did she want them to move together? So Stefania only has few minutes screen time in Station 19 and none at all in Grey's Anatomy. She may not be around next season.

It’s sad that they transferred her to Station 19 as a regular but barely gives her any screentime😭🥺 She only ever appears when it’s to be all lovey-dovey with Maya. Why does it feel like Stefania’s character became a trophy girlfriend for the captain of the fire station😕😔

If it was me there listening to Maya, one thing I'd point out to her is that her relationship with Carina is the first serious relationship she has ever with someone. I'd also point out that she's lived on her own since she was old enough to do so, so of course she's going to be used to having things around the house the way she wants them to be. With Carina moving in, things are bound to be different and of course it would make her feel a bit uncomfortable because it's an entirely new situation which she has no idea how to deal with. I'd say that it would just take some time to get used to it, but I wouldn't think that she has to worry about becoming her father. Growing up the way she did, it's no wonder she's had to make herself tough and feel in control.

@@kaliyahgibson3291 Yes, I did. My criticism is in the poor writing. Maya is telling her feelings to everyone else, but the one person who really matters, her girlfriend, Carina, she supposedly loves. Carina, the one Maya cheated on with her ex-boyfriend because she was making her face the ugly truth that she was mentally abused by her father. Why in the hell did the show make Ms Spampinato a series regular if she has no story line or screen time? She is the sole reason I watch this terrible show.

@@SlickLatina Bc when you are processing hard truths about yourself it is easier to tell a friend than a partner before you figured everything out. Also, you don't want your partner to be your therapist that's a lot of pressure on them. Plus Carina said she isn't into fixing Maya. So it's actually healthy for Maya to fix herself away from their relationship. I hope to see more of Stefania too!
@embrya26
@embrya26 3 жыл бұрын
@@bloodmanor8 Yes this! Plus Maya has never been in love before and Carina doesn't yet know all the ugly truths about Maya and she seems so much more put together so yeah Maya's natural inclination is to turn to Andy who knows and can relate to all the ugliness and what that has brought and can bring. That said, Maya does need to take Carina off that pedestal she has her on. I think that is in part to do with what I've already said but also to do with the fact that Maya let her demons take over before and she hurt Carina and now Maya feels she needs to protect Carina from those demons. I think she'll learn how to be a better communicator and I think being with Carina who has no problem saying what she feels and thinks will help her get there.
