Everyone is giving Maya such a hard time, while I think it's understandable I wonder if people remember how it was back in season 1. Has everyone forgot that the situation was basically reversed? Andy was the self centered career focused firefighter who only cared about her own problems while Maya was the supporting best friend who tried to be there for her.

Yes its true but maya just overstepped it she got promoted to lt and after that she got the captain spot it is not understandable andy has the right to be mad at maya for that reason and maya the one tell andy that andy would be the captain and then she decide to be the captain and maya just almost break an entire family

I actually love Maya. I feel like they’ve been treating her quite badly for no reason- it’s not her fault that she was picked to be Captain. She couldn’t exactly refuse

she seems to self centered, only caring about herself, not being 100% honest to Andy, that's what makes me dislike her, I was actually getting quite fond of her in season 2 but then she got all annoying.

It's not that she was picked for captain it's the way she went about it. Sneaky as always. Just be honest and say something. Andy is suppose to be her best friend and she has not been there for her at all this season when andy needed her the most. They are treating her badly(not saying its right) because she came in like a bat out of hell with big changes to the way the station ran. As soon as she got the job she turned into her father. She hated that growing up why would she think they would like it? I hope that this change lasts and she calms down as captain

It's not the fact that she accepted the job that bothers me. It's that she would screw her friends who are her family just to get ahead in her career. She said so herself that she doesn't let people or any of them get in the way of her ambitions. That's being a shitty person all around. One day she's going to look around and find herself standing alone with all those trophies and medals she brags about.

@@nyssavangadasamy3903 yes!!!!!! She was so happy with jack no matter what she says and she ended her relationship to push past her friend to get a promotion. She screwed over everyone in her life to get what she wants. She will be left standing alone one of these days and the only person she will have to blame is herself. Just because she learned it from her father doesnt mean she cant change the way she behaves as am adult.

I recognise that some people have been through very harsh situations in their lives that leave scars, but none of us have to be our past. We have to find it in ourselves to be better and do better than whatever horrid thing was done or taught to us. Sometimes we don't realise how strong and resilient we are.

They said there's always a glue on the team. Someone whom people usually follow the lead. Andy might be petty at times and her vision can get clouded with her emotions but there's no doubt people usually gravitates towards her and her decisions. Personally since the beginning of the first season I tend to catch myself reacting to Maya depending on how Andy reacts to her. It's just a TV show but for some reason the actress portray Andy in a way that leadership comes natural and not forced. I'm glad though that Maya's starting to stick to what she wants now rather than what is expected from her.

There is something missing here! There should be a scene that acknowledges that they all set Andy’s career back maybe even years. They keep repeating “when Andy makes captain.” Like she has to transfer stations or wait for Maya to be promoted again so Andy can be become captain when Andy earned it first. Like I would be more mad about that....

Right, this isn't going to need a quick thing for andy to get. And she made it clear when talking to jack no one would be transferring. Andy is in her happy place right now though, she finally got her man and maya admitted finally to stealing the job from her. She is being easy breazy andy again. We will see how long it lasts this time.

Maybe since Dixon is getting bad publicity he will be demoted , Sullivan will move up , then Maya will be battalion chief and Andy becomes captain 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m fairly new to the show cause it finally grew on me after all the greys crossovers. I’m happy to see Andy and Maya become fiends again. I think it was unfair of her to mistreat her friend after she got the position, especially if she talks about how her dad was poorly treated. I’m sure most will disagree but, I didn’t really watch the first two seasons.

You can watch the first 2 season on soap2day Maya has a habit of sneaking behind Andy's back instead of just being honest with her. She did it when she applied for lieutenant, she did it when she was sleeping with Jack and now when she faught for captain.

I wish there were some REAL Firefighters who could chime in on the reality of this life... to let us in on whether captains and chiefs hook up with people who work directly under them... that Fathers choose to submarine their Daughter's careers when there is no way in hell they would have if it were their son... I keep watching and it bothers me that the profession is represented as a hot mess that rivals Housewives reality shows.
