Alarm bells for all homeowners should have rung from their house purchase inspection report... They were buying a house/mansion predominantly built out untreated plywood & whitewood/softwood timber with zero fire protection or resistance as a construction material. Couple that with no external localised fire suppression systems...imagine having an irrigation system for their garden but no sprinklers to keep the house externals saturated with water during these fires...& huge swimming pools full of water sat there also 🙄 Here's hoping California completely revise their new build building codes to make houses more fire resistant...though I am sure the all-powerful lumber industry will heavily loby all lawmakers against change in materials & greater regulation & higher material specification standards...🤔

And you can implement forest management practices throughout these areas to greatly reduce the amount of flammable material just sitting on the ground. Things can be done to mitigate what we are seeing today. They just weren’t done.
