If you had the ability to simply "choose" to avoid addiction, addiction wouldn't be a problem. There are a few more problems with you argument. Like saying it's no one else's problem. Sorry, but we don't live in a vacuum. This is the real world. Which means the things you do (or don't do) will affect other people.
