The only graduate of Annapolis Naval Academy to become President. Trained in nuclear technology and served on one of the first nuclear submarines. Was called to Canada to help figure out how to stop a nuclear leak in one of Canada’s first nuclear power plants because he was one of the few who was trained to do so. Married for 77 years to the love of his life, Rosalyn. Tireless social justice warrior. Nobel prize winner. Tireless volunteer and promoter of Habitat for Humanity. Taught Sunday school and lived his faith. He was a true Christian, a loving father, husband and grandfather. A truly humble man. Rest in peace to a truly remarkable man.

@@cliftonarnelin4751 But he sold the farm before taking office. Didn't want the appearance of a conflict of interest. Compare that with Trump who hasn't said a word about handing over his business or creating a blind trust for all his "investments". So everyone can pour money directly into his pocket buying his crap or staying at one of his resorts. That's the way you can buy influence! He made it so easy for anyone to bribe him. No wonder he didn't even release his tax returns.

Prayers and thanks to President Carter, and the American people. From a Canadian. Carter stood by his conviction s, even though many never agreed with, i admire a man who can still take the risk to do something he believes in, even at risk of political career. Instead of trying to placate everyone. People want that strength. Even if they don't like policies, at least the man is true to himself, integrity. That doesn't always get votes. I'm sure a very tough job, that's not at all easy God bless, rest in peace. Will miss that beautiful smile. But his work is done. I remember that cute little girl Amy in the Whitehouse. Nice family.😊

This caused me to reflect and sort of teared up. I'm 56 years old and I remember being in the 2nd grade in 1976. I had to decide which candidate to vote for Gerard Ford or Jimmy Carter. I chose Gerard Ford because I wanted a President named after Ford car. It was my very first lesson in government and politics. This is a beautiful sad day for a great man. I'll always remember his promise during that election in 1976: " I promise I'll never lie to you." I pray for the Carter Family. If the country knew all you accomplished that is of great benefit to Americans today, you would be celebrated in every city in the US. History will be kind. Already debated as the most successful one-term President. Thank you for your service.
