Very true just World War II alone. Deserved every star on his uniform. He was very lucky for D-Day. They were all lucky on Day. Still to this day, boggles my mind. Why do you have generals like Eisenhower and MacArthur out doing the fighting, why they didn’t make Marshall General of the armies. There is only three in existence and I’m surprised with all of the great men World War II there was not one. But there are three. Do you know who they are? I do.

So, Hitler and Nazism, as soon as they invaded some European countries, they called them the plague and criminals against humanity. As for the two heinous empires, Britain and France, they invaded more than 40% of the world, exterminated and enslaved peoples, occupied their lands, shed their blood, and made them annihilate after their independence in continuous eternal wars like India. The British did not get out of it except after dividing it. And he made her frank permanently and herself in Syria and Algeria when the French were testing chemical and nuclear weapons with them, and what evil are you talking about? The real evil is Britain and France in the same way, and I bow in honor and thanks to the Nazis for what they did to Britain and France, and if they had not done it, we would to this day be under occupation and enslavement between these two empires! And if you were in Hitler's place, you would have done more than twice between these two criminal states!

Many were MILITARY MEN, who had seen the face of war! They knew how precious freedom was and the ultimate price many had paid. Men like Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt(FDR), Eisenhower and Kennedy(JFK) were men who were bigger than life and were leaders during some troubled times but who stayed on course and got us through. They were fully worthy of homegoings like this. As I watch this, I wonder what it must have been like at Washington's funeral and that of Lincoln!

Former U.S. President. Harry S. Truman was unable to attend the funeral service for his successor, because he's at Key West for vacation with his family, He sent a condolence message to General's widow Mamie Eisenhower and President Richard Nixon.

It's interesting to me how much General Eisenhower's state funeral mirrors what I've been seeing in the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. Both of them were excellent leaders and well deserving of such a grand send-off.

no where near the scale of the queens

Do you still think they're comparable?
@StarchildMagic2 жыл бұрын
@@eddiegaltek In scale, no, but that was not the point. As far as the elements of the funeral, yes. The formal procession, the coffin draped with the flag, the lying-in-state...these are probably elements common to the funerals of leaders all around the world, but before now I only ever saw Presidential funerals.

Who would have dreamt? In 2022, I’ve become an Eisenhower Republican but, no such party exists anymore….

Yep can agree with your comment… The US took the mantle of world policeman… And keeping the Soviet Union at bay. A great President and General

JFK, Herbert Hoover, and Ike were the first three presidents who died during my mom’s childhood in the 1960s from when she was born

A lot of people may not know this but President Eisenhower had an older brother named Edgar. When this older brother was a senior in high school, his classmates voted him most likely to become President of the United States. Talk about a spooky near miss.

Ike was the last president to have complete control of the United States.

4:56 you would never tell that, that was in Washington, looks exactly like somewhere in England.

A real hero, he helped save the world. I liked how four of the eight military pall bearers into the National Cathedral are African American. For some, that's not significant, but for all the black youth to see that inclusion honoring a great man, and also for any racists to see their view won't stand. Ike was the Supreme Allied Commander and recognized his fellow soldiers regardless of the construct of 'race'. He was just a good person.
