Do you seriously think Biden, Trump, Obama or any other president has memorized any of their speeches? They all read from a teleprompter, screen, cards or so. Also tv commentators all read from a teleprompter. At work the CEO, CTO, CFO, me, my colleagues, ect we all read our speeches or presentations from a screen. Nobody memorizes speeches!

I'm not condoning the content of their speeches, just saying that speeches can be mostly committed to memory by people who have intelligence and passion. Again, not condoning the things they said, just making a point! And these are just 2 examples of 2 men whose mental sanity can be questioned, yet they could get through hour long speeches with minimal notes and maximum effectiveness. Yes, I expect the President of the USA to be able to memorise a 10 minute speech about an attempted assassination of a former President and get through it without gaffes and a teleprompter. I don't think my expectations are too high for the leader of the free world!!

@@MissRed92837 if you, your colleagues, the CEO, CFO and CTO can't deliver speeches without reading them word for word, I question the quality of people employed at your firm. I've delivered multiple speeches, some an hour long, with only dot points to keep me on track. Rarely referring to them unless really needed. And I've had standing ovations. It's not that hard with a little practice. The President should be able to do it at 3am if woken to some international disaster without ANY notes.

I worked as an executive assistant for a CIO and a CFO of very large international companies and also for top managers of middle size US or international companies. None of them memorized their speeches or presentations. They all read from a screen or teleprompter. POTUSes and top managers don’t have the time to memorize speeches. They have more important things to do.
