@@theofficialfriendlyretrievers It’s the people providing products and services to the consumer that’s greedy. Prime example: Congress stated in congressional hearing that many colleges are subsidized by the government yet colleges still up their costs to students because they know they’ll get the money from student loans. Money that goes to stockholders not to the students. That’s why tuition is so high. From greed not inflation.

I really don't like how these two are running with this story. Buying a house with that money is not hardship. Needing to feed yourself and helping other family members during the pandemic is. @sandywaters1153 Right! But the whole thing is this, they were looking for her to make a mistake, and she gave it to them. Same thing for Martha. She also may lose her license. Not worth it. Find another way to take your money out where the only thing that happens is that you pay a penalty for taking the money out too early. And pay the taxes on it. She is a lawyer, she knew this. I have seen this happen to a lot of women, and they were made an example of while others got away with it.

I hate her victim mentality! She did wrong. She sat as the top legal leader in the city of Baltimore and committed a crime. So she's need to be held at a higher standard when she do wrong like this, because she knows better. She didn't even do her job while in Baltimore. Crime worsened under her time in the position and continues to worsen to this day. She just needs to do the time (which I don't think will be 40 years) and try to do better and change her attitude during this time. Further more, if she was in "hardship" why would she buy vacation homes in another state. She's such a fraud! Good riddance. Her ex-husband's time is next.

This is retaliatory. Yes, she falsified her application to access her monies. The penalty is EXCESSIVE because she persecuted police. She is not innocent. However, the punishment is excessive because of her publicity for holding violent officers accountable

They gave her a plea deal, which I'm sure meant probation. When you take any case to trial, the rules change. Now there is the cost of the trial; you can't then say we are going to give a slap on the wrist. She was found guilty in two federal courtrooms. She lied and got caught. At some point, you have to fall on your sword, not blame the system you work for, and beg for a pardon.

The problem isn't how she spent the money. The problem is how she withdrew it. It's hard to justify your claim of financial hardship when you're making MORE money in 2020 than you did in 2019. And if my dad--who is 77--withdrew money from his 401k or IRA with a lie to back it up, he'd be in legal trouble too.
