Also cool that, when the tree eventually dies (like they will), they can make it into a table to keep as a family heirloom. Kinda like that old saying "good men plant trees, the shade of which they'll never enjoy". His child won't truly understand what that tree means until they've grown up, how awesome is that, something that appreciates over time
@JustaDudeTryinToLearnPiano4 ай бұрын
@@raisin8051 I was thinking the same thing about their child(ren) growing up. They will be able to surround this tree as a symbol of love for the rest of their lives. Not a lot of times in life that we get to experience something like that
@AD2704794 ай бұрын
@@raisin8051 By the time that tree dies, they won't be around any more, chances are neither will their kids or grandkids if they ever have them. And whatever family that now lives there will probably have no relation to the couple that planted the tree. As kids move on, very rarely do they keep living in the same house... Truth is, the house will probably be gone before the tree is. So if they wanted to make an heirloom out of it, they'll probably have to cut it down while it's still healthy.

We had a neighbour, he was a fantastic gardener and had a beautiful plot of land. Before i was born he had a daughter, she passed at age 8 from cancer in 1974. She was cremated and instead of a memorial, he planted an acorn that had come from an oak tree that grew in his ancestral village. When he was old, the local neighbourhood and council got together and we bought part of the block and he donated the rest, no one wanted it to be sold to some unscrupulous developers. It was turned into a tiny park and the memorial tree is now a big beautiful tree that kids are allowed to climb. This story reminded me of that tree and is a reminder to think of the future and how patience can bring beautiful things. Edit- If people are interested it's called the Kevin and Jill Heinze People's Garden in Montrose Vic 3765. Their little daughter was called Kim.

In 1963, my mom planted 2 trees in our front yard. One was “my” tree and the other was for my older sister. Being just 4-5 years old at the time and not knowing better, I killed my tree by pulling all of its leaves off. My sister’s tree has grown and thrived through the years. We lost our mom in 1987 at just age 54. When I drive past that old house now, the tree is a reminder of the strength and love mom instilled in us. This is a silly take. Don't drive a car because someone who helped make it cheated or worse. Don't eat a restaurant because the owner or a worker cheated or worse. Same with shopping in stores, visiting doctors, and even going to school. You're welcome to enjoy your high ground, but don't be a hypocrite while doing so.

@nope......... like people who stop listening to RKelly or PDiddy songs because of their personal lives.

Awesome. This is why doing things together like planting trees is a great way to cultivate memories or honoring loved ones… Makes you appreciate the things around you and each other. Great stuff!

The 🌳 simplistic thoughtfulness of that. They grew together with TIME and PATIENCE NURTURED by their PARENTS building strong SUPPORTING roots/foundation, to last. LIFE is what YOU put into it and the choices and chances YOU make. Commit to the GOODNESS. 🙏🏻

That's a beautiful tree. What a great present. Flowers only last a few days. A tree lasts years.

Great couple. They realised that nature is life. Tree's are alive. They give us oxygen. They give us life. This Tree will bless him and his family.

Very awesome. Just think how blessed you are to actually have a place to plant that tree and not have to worry about not being able to go back to it or see it forever.
