Also cool that, when the tree eventually dies (like they will), they can make it into a table to keep as a family heirloom. Kinda like that old saying "good men plant trees, the shade of which they'll never enjoy". His child won't truly understand what that tree means until they've grown up, how awesome is that, something that appreciates over time

@@raisin8051 I was thinking the same thing about their child(ren) growing up. They will be able to surround this tree as a symbol of love for the rest of their lives. Not a lot of times in life that we get to experience something like that
@AD270479
@AD270479 4 ай бұрын
@@raisin8051 By the time that tree dies, they won't be around any more, chances are neither will their kids or grandkids if they ever have them. And whatever family that now lives there will probably have no relation to the couple that planted the tree. As kids move on, very rarely do they keep living in the same house... Truth is, the house will probably be gone before the tree is. So if they wanted to make an heirloom out of it, they'll probably have to cut it down while it's still healthy.

That tree could be the spark of inseperability (if that's even a word lol) of their family _tree_ (pun partially intended) I can imagine many descendants who are aunts, uncles, sons, daughters, grandparents, and cousins all coming to that tree to remember how connected they are as a family.

We had a neighbour, he was a fantastic gardener and had a beautiful plot of land. Before i was born he had a daughter, she passed at age 8 from cancer in 1974. She was cremated and instead of a memorial, he planted an acorn that had come from an oak tree that grew in his ancestral village. When he was old, the local neighbourhood and council got together and we bought part of the block and he donated the rest, no one wanted it to be sold to some unscrupulous developers. It was turned into a tiny park and the memorial tree is now a big beautiful tree that kids are allowed to climb. This story reminded me of that tree and is a reminder to think of the future and how patience can bring beautiful things. Edit- If people are interested it's called the Kevin and Jill Heinze People's Garden in Montrose Vic 3765. Their little daughter was called Kim.

In 1963, my mom planted 2 trees in our front yard. One was “my” tree and the other was for my older sister. Being just 4-5 years old at the time and not knowing better, I killed my tree by pulling all of its leaves off. My sister’s tree has grown and thrived through the years. We lost our mom in 1987 at just age 54. When I drive past that old house now, the tree is a reminder of the strength and love mom instilled in us. God has blessed this couple and given them a true source of strength with deep roots. I pray they have many happy years together.

What a great idea, a Tree Planting! I planted an avacado tree in our backyard that I saved from an avacado. It was about 4 feet tall when we sold the house in 1985 or so. I hope the owners get lots of delicious avacados from it! ❤

Now that’s a story worth listening to. 🎉 My Dad did pretty similar thing by planting 10 saplings and each family member planted one. I was like 6 yrs old back then … we all 5 siblings love seeing the trees aging with us !! My parents and grand parents have passed away … but looking at the trees just makes us feel home every time .

Nothing to do with “America”! This is about planting roots, thoughtfulness, persistence and perseverance and helping contribute to the health of the planet and their relationship. People do this sort of thing in many cultures around the world. 🌎 People also celebrate ancient trees, which give us hope for the future.

This is a silly take. Don't drive a car because someone who helped make it cheated or worse. Don't eat a restaurant because the owner or a worker cheated or worse. Same with shopping in stores, visiting doctors, and even going to school. You're welcome to enjoy your high ground, but don't be a hypocrite while doing so.
