Dick Clark: Farewell to a TV Legend

There will never be another Dick Clark. "America's oldest teenager" was the best. He was amusing, and delightful, it was like he was everybody's best friend. I didn't watch that much of American Bandstand, but I watched alot of "Pyramid", he made everbody feel at ease. He was a real trooper to do his New Years Eve show after recovering from a stroke. He will be missed for years to come. Gone, but certainly NOT forgotten. R.I.P

He was an amazing man...One of the most natural television personalities ever to grace our TV screens...That's the thing about Dick Clark...He was graceful...Easy to watch...Easy to like...I'm gonna miss him.

I subscribed to the American Bandstand channel you can dance to it in memory of Dick Clark. He gave the music world a great gift, and it was an honor for me to subscribe to this channel. Mr Dick Clark, I and the music world will never forget you.

One of many who grew up on American Bandstand when it was in Philadelphia. After school would try to get home as soon as possible on crutches and leg braces because I got polio to turn on the TV and watch American Bandstand. Wow what great days. Dick Clark was so real on the air hosting Bandstand. He had the natural talent to make u feel like u were right there on American Bandstand. What a talent thank u Dick for all the great years u were on TV and Radio. God bless u.

Dick Clark's career was amazing, and he did such a fine job for ABC for so many years. New Year's eve is probably the only night I'll stay up late, and my bride and I watch New Year's eve on television showing Times Square. Pyramid was a funny game show, and I'm glad ABC brought it back.

I met him as a child, my Dad got his autograph for me at a Mall, he was just a short guy in the towel dept. of Lit Bros., perhaps some remember those days, not really Malls but big department stores, he was so kind, said sure, and signed "Best Wishes, Dick Clark" ~ I had no idea he would become more than what he already was, Bandstand in those was shot in Philly and I knew some older than me who were on, we soon moved again to FL but I never missed anything he did, the after school stuff that showed me Sonny & Cher for the first time and all that had to lip sinc on ABS cuz that was the rule, and some of them sure needed to do it, I will never forget that man, Dick Clark is a legend and always will be

I worked with him for more than 20 years and miss him beyond the telling of it. I "talk" to him on a daily basis and will always love him dearly. By the way, Dick *did* play an instrument -- two, in fact: he could play the piano using an orange (honest) and he played the harmonica. May his memory be a blessing. It is to me. And by the way, that salute was to his late brother, Brad, who was killed in World War II.

almost 6 years since we lost this icon new years eve sucks even Saturdays even though bandstand hasn't been on tv in almost 30 years the main thing u wanna watch after cartoons were done with. I need to be doc brown find a delorean build a time machine and relive the 80's

Here's another fun fact. A Guy named Pierre Lalonde visited New York in the 1960's, saw American Bandstand for the first time, convinced the folks in Montreal's French Community to do a similar Show. He hosted and one of the Guests was a Group called The Baronets that featured a man named Rene Angelil, his Protégé named Celine Dion made her TV Debut on a Talk Show he hosted and the rest is History.

Dick Clark died at 82 years old with dignity, amen! I say when you're 82 years old, die with dignity, give it up! don't be like my grandfather and outlive even Jack LaLanne. My paternal grandfather is 97, he lives in Mexico and eats crap! makes me pissed that here we live in the US and many die before or just past eighty, and very few make it past ninety, like Betty White.
