An awesome guy, who always looked way younger than he was. He was hip,he was respectful of everybody he met and knew you. He made my life easier to live in a small town with his show. Thank you Mr Clark and God bless you Sir.

Dick Clark's dad just gave me a huge, huge insight into this man of music. I always say...."I'm Just Here for the Music"...I had so much heartbreak as a kid, lost family. I related to what Dick's father says here. The music saved my spirit and life. Love this.

A legend who left us ten years ago. Wonderful host, great human being, an icon of his time. May Dick Clark rest in peace, love, and humanity. He is greatly missed, especially on New Year's Eve, replacing Guy Lombardo as the official welcomer of the New Year. Thank you for this circa 1959 This is Your Life video clip.

He said in an interview that his dad was not a hugger or kisser and he felt sad but he vowed that when he had sons he would shower them with hugs and kisses and he did that on this show

Wow look at how young looks here! My mom got the honor of having lunch with him and his last wife. He had the American Bandstand restaurant in Indiana. I think but not sure that it was on Keystone Ave. Anyway she went there and got to talking to his wife with my mom not realizing who she was. Then she was invited to sit with & have lunch with Dick Clark & his wife. My mom was so happy to have that honor. I bet he was a wonderful dad to his kids.

I found this in between so many other things.... no wonder only 146 views! John 1948, this is wonderful. Dick is already on This Is Your Life, and it must be only about '59. Gee. This is a great insight into what it was all about... I love hearing the early fame cuties, Avalon, Connie Francis, the rest.....talk candidly. Seeing his parents.,...which I couldn't imagine he had... is just darling. I lloved this show, couldn't stay up late to watch it much. Thank you so much, John1948....

@@spectrumlocalb191 Oddly, she does seem to have "a chip on her shoulder"… Perhaps she was uncomfortable wearing glasses, but in 1959 many were wearing contact lenses. I know Connie Francis wore them, because we went to the same eye Dr. ( Robert Morrison )..
@PAULLONDEN3 жыл бұрын
*@Darrell Marklinger* "COLD"...? because she didn't sit there phoney smiling pretending everything is hunky dory ? She sure could've used a make over, but that was your generally accepted look in the post rock'n roll 50's when Uncle Sam got hold of the King and almost succeeded in stamping out that corrupting rock'n roll , and the charts belonged to wholesome Pat and a collection of Bobbies.

( "Wagstaff" ) 😮 Dick (used to be in control) understandably seemed to have doubts about this.... His hairline then already slightly thinning became thicker with the years. Which ofcourse is a must in rock'n roll .

He married Loretta Martin in 1962; the couple had two children, Duane and Cindy, and divorced in 1971. His third marriage, to Kari Wigton, whom he married in 1977, lasted until his death.
