I think people are tired of seeing millionaire pastors flaunt their wealth while the congregation/members are still poor yet faithfully put their money in the collection plate. Ministry is a business now churches have money in stocks, own businesses, and give to the community for a tax write off. The pastor back then were not like this and didn’t leach off the people. The problem with that is there's too much selfishness. Too many people who say go ahead and believe what you believe until they start actually doing it and then people get an attitude because they don't want to be told what to do. You see it's people selfishness and negativity that is the reason why America is the way that it is. And you can apply that to any topic you like. What's the reason why there is racism what is the reason why people drink alcohol what's the reason why they're sexism? All of these laws have to do with selfishness. Even in court in this country, the judge will say what's your defense?, while knowing that he or she won't accept a defense for any crime because if he or she ever did it would have to be allowed by everybody in this country and of course the judge doesn't want to allow that. So in this country you really don't even have the freedom to make your own defense against a crime, because of other people selfishness and negativity. So you see all of these things really have nothing to do with religion but rather the question of will people stop being selfish and start being selfless and help and love one another?😎❤🌎

The biggest problem for churches started with the "prosperity theology", which has turned many heads and appealed to greed in the human heart. People think that's okay because "Preachers" like Kenneth Copeland tells them that God wants them to be rich - and he even has 2 private jets. Once greed entered the churches, I knew that the end would be coming for them. Then, the age of Trump came in which too many people preferred political rallies instead of hearing the Word and learning how Christ wants us to live. False "profits" of the "religious industry" opened tent meetings and spouted every form of blasphemy they could think of. Too many people now confuse church with state, and they prefer being entertained at political rally-style meetings than being serious about Scripture. I hate seeing these beautiful churches being sold and even being transformed into condos, but money-making and politics have strangled our sense of propriety and our feelings of reverence. I suppose it is fitting after all that these churches be taken over by money-making ventures, despite Jesus' anger at the moneychangers in the temple. Our society has gone VERY FAR from where its spiritual and religious roots once lay. A great deal of damage will be done to our society - and to the human conscience - because of this, much more than we have yet witnessed. It is tragedy, to be sure.

The holy spirt gives us joy. Joy which comes from things other than the simple pleasure of consumerism which so many Americans have been taught is the only real source of joy in the world. God made king Solomon rich, yes, but his disciples were also persecuted and suffered because they followed Gods word and the bugle says they were joyous because they were worthy enough to suffer in the lords name. Gods gift to us is perfect peace, freedom from the slavery of sin, freedom from the fear of death and the opportunity to stand before his glorious perfection without any shame or guilt of our sins because God sent his son to die so that we wouldn’t have to.

People want a loving god, not a god that's obsessed with who you love or if you had sex before marriage or said "happy holidays" rather than "Merry christmas." The teachings of the churches aren’t based at all on the truth of the Bible or on the teachings of Jesus. It’s a sad fact that many people are unaware of what the Bible really says and therefore don’t know that very shortly God is going to make drastic changes on the earth for the benefit of everyone who wants to live in peace and harmony with everybody else. By means of his heavenly Kingdom government he is going to remove all human governments and everyone causing harm to others. (Matthew 6:10; Daniel 2:44; Proverbs 2:21, 22) As King of the Kingdom, Jesus will bring true peace and security to the entire earth and lovingly care for every individual’s needs. The prophesies of Marie Julie Jahenny stating: the “horrible religion,” that “many many Bishops embrace,” is not the Novus Ordo Missae aka The New Mass from Vatican 2 that many accepted as such. This false acceptance had a ripple effect through our Church and caused much division and damage to Catholicism throughout the world! The true “horrible religion that “many many Bishops embraced,” is the communist backed Nationalism Movement! In USA it is known as Christian Nationalism and they play a huge role politically with this new party that took over our Republican party in real-time. MAGA’s goal is to dismantle the Constitutional Federal Republic Government of America! Christian Nationalists hijacked the Christian name-they are a guise for white supremacy! In America the Nationalist Movement aka “Christian Nationalism,” has one goal-Dismantle Christianity & replace it with Nationalism, (aka Hate). The billionaire backed MAGA along with Nationalism work hand in hand, why Republicans and Democrats must work hand in hand to dismantle them-or America is no longer and religion will no longer exist, exactly what this communist, billionaire, private sector, “rogue”government wants, because they strive to dismantle the global system to bring in the NEW WORLD ORDER & lawlessness, so that they can use their reverse engineered “alien technology,” against the people of the world, to have TOTAL CONTROL. This is the work of the EVIL ONE and the LEFT & the RIGHT AND ALL PEOPLE AGAINST this NEW WORLD ORDER MUST WORK TOGETHER! Nationalists teach hate, racism, and they fear diversity-everything that is the integral measures of the Catholic Church! The diverse congregation of all creeds, race, colors, converts of all religions from all nations is the congregation-the body of Jesus Christ. These Nationalists will gather Christians of the 7 main denominations & Catholics up along with Gays, Jews, Blacks-all marginalized groups and persecute us! Please know I speak the truth! T

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received let him be accursed." "For it is by grace you have been saved through Faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works so that no one can boast." "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord." "And to the one who does not work but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteous." "And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall shall never die? Do you believe?" "The work of God is this, to believe in the one He sent." "There is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." This is the same message and program Jesus taught and this is the same message and program the Apostles taught. We shall stand on this Rock of Truth or else we stand condemned. I speak the truth with what I tell you. Oct 9, I was healed at “Our Lady of Champion,” Shrine the only approved Apparition site of our Blessed Virgin Mary in USA. I speak not just from our Lady but from God the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit. Catholics must see the truth about Nationalism. T

Of course his teachings of kindness and etc are good, but that doesn’t convince me he still rose from the dead and I have to give my soul to him, that’s where the line is between applicable moral teachings and fictional legends
@ProteinShowdown17 сағат бұрын

Your issue is not with sin and damnation, it is rather with whether or not there is a God and whether that God is Christian. Our society and its founding systems and its current systems are often operating on presuppositions prompted by the existence of such a God. Is this correct?

@@tiger-t3uFalse. Christianity's golden rule is proactive while non-Christian concept is a passive golden rule 1. Christian concept is a proactive golden rule based on loving your neighbors as yourself which means having the initiative to help others improve their lives. Example, giving food to a hungry neighbor Non-Christian concept is a passive golden rule which emphasizes in the avoidance of harmful behavior rather than taking proactive steps to improve society Example, not taking food from your neighbor or harming their ability to get food *Democracy requires people to take action like voting, speaking up, or helping improve their communities. The passive rule can lead to people doing nothing, thinking it's enough to just avoid harming others instead of actively working to fix problems 2. The passive golden rule prioritizes harmony and the avoidance of conflict. It often discourages individuals from challenging oppressive or unjust systems. On the other hand, the Bible calls for active intervention against injustice and oppression. Love for neighbor (Matthew 22:39) and defending the oppressed (Isaiah 1:17) has led to powerful movements for social change, such as the abolition of slavery, civil rights activism, and global humanitarian efforts. 3. Passive golden rule generally focuses on individual behavior instead of collective efforts to address larger issues. On the other hand, Jesus and the prophets continually advocated for correcting injustice and lifting up the oppressed. 4. The passive golden rule tends to avoid confrontation, while democracy relies on active, informed citizens who take a stand on important issues. 5. The passive golden rule seeks peace and harmony but may overlook justice and fairness. On the other hand, democracies depend on addressing inequalities, holding leaders accountable, and safeguarding human rights. While the non-Christian/passive golden rule emphasizes some level of social responsibility, the Christian/proactive Golden Rule is more focused on action. It urges individuals to go beyond merely avoiding harm and to actively contribute to improving society and addressing injustice, which closely aligns with the core principles of democracy and the values of a just, fair society

In this case, if the other members were truly her "family", she wouldn't lose them just because a building closed. Thank you for this. I abandoned my faith about 10 years ago and haven't been a church goer since. However, I've had my faith renewed and looking to go back to a church. People love to use all types of excuses to justify their abandonment of the faith and regular church attendance; I am guilty of doing so too. But the reality is that if we believe in the gospel and believe in the salvation that Christ brings to us, then it's our duty to attend the church. Not because the Bible compels us to do so. But because the church is the closest we can get to a heaven on earth experience. After all, the kingdom of heaven will be full of His creations singing and praising the King of Kings. We may as well prepare ourselves for what is waiting for us in heaven.

More people are less religious and more skeptical. It's tough to believe in a faith-based system where God continues to turn a blind eye to the tragedies of the world. Furthermore, I think many people worship out of fear, or perhaps even the belief that God will favor them and their well-being if they are in church every week. The truth is: life happens. Good people die every day regardless of whether they were practitioners of religion or not. I think most people these days are more open-minded to the possibility that there may not be an afterlife and/or God, and that this life might be all that we have.

If you want people to believe in religion, then start teaching the basic like Catholic catechism of their religion. Most people are religious through no choice of their own. We’re all brought up as children and forced through whatever religious identity your parents are in. It’s very hard to have a relationship with the man above when you have not experienced heartache yourself. That’s why it’s not surprising that people stray away from religion and their mid 20s to mid 30s only to return after 35 years old. That’s because, once you’re out of answers or have no control over what’s going on in your life you look for guidance. Which is why we return to religion later in life They’re right, when everything is good the last thing you do is think about prayer. When you have no control over what’s going on in your life when there’s a loss of job, your car break down, someone dies, you search for answers that no man can give you. With the church being for profit nowadays it’s easy for people to stay away. When the churches were getting all the money from the tithes, there were no investments put into the community that supported them. No new housing complexes, no help with assisting them with the medical bills or housing bills. All the money went to furnishing the new home for the pastor, raising their salary and buying their kids luxury cars. It’s also small town churches too. Once they start seeing the money roll in the churches starts to change as it becomes just about money. I’m convinced that people will return to religion, but I do not think a majority of people will return to the church.
@AliciatheCho4 күн бұрын
True. Good times make people think they don’t need God. Discipline comes from “disciple.” Being a follower of Jesus requires forming habits. All parents rear their children according their beliefs, and everyone has a choice in what they believe (even if forced to attend church). Yet even children from religious households get catechized into secularism because it’s the air we breathe. Many also leave their faith because they fear disapproval of the world rather than God. It takes courage to be religious in a culture increasingly hostile to believers. Religion is inseparable from community. The root words means “to bind.” Thus why it’s said “where two or three are gathered, God is present.” Being off on one’s own is a recipe for spiritual narcissism or apostasy. Not an option for Catholics and Orthodox who must receive the sacraments. People today are worshipping politics, celebrities, fandom, identity, sexuality, or the occult like New Age stuff. Anything that feels good and never requires them to transform. They’ll eventually find it unsatisfying and at least consider traditional religion later.
@jacqueslee25923 күн бұрын
It is is usually the kids who are forced to be religious because their parents have regrets so they try to project on to you. It is the same with all the religious nuts and preachers. They did things in the past that they have regrets and now they created a persona of their own. Things happen in your life because it is a mind set that needed to be changed in the past, but you made decisions that cause problems and hence why things are happening in the present. For me, religion corrupted my mind set and created problems for me in my life because it fills you with idea that you are powerless in your own path and must accept why those who have more money and power can live a better life. I still need to detox some of my childhood religious ideas, but they become rooted in your mind. It is all socioeconomics in the end. We all want a good and healthy life and to live life with family in peace. That is every rational human being, but in reality these things may not happen for everybody due to factors such as money, being raised by narcissistic and bad parents, unhealthy family environment, bad health. This world can be either heaven or hell for everybody. If nuclear war happens, then it is hell for everybody and human beings caused this.

@@AliciatheCho What are you talking about? You can’t FORCE a child to go to Bible Study? You can’t FORCE a child to be Baptized? You can’t FORCE a child to participate in communion? Most people identify as Christians at a young age. Not because of their “revelation” but because of the intense psychological drilling of religion starting at a young age. The same applies to a racist. Most grow up in an environment that fosters their beliefs. Until they leave that environment and come into their own truths. Maybe they stay a racist or maybe they don’t. The same applies with religion. Until someone is able to THINK on their own and reason or conclude as to what they want or believe, you will always have this detachment from parental guidance. That’s why it’s no surprise that younger people are not as religious as older people. Once they have their own experiences that draw them back to religion, then it matters. So yes, people are FORCED to be religious, go to college, get married, etc. Study Sociology then it will make sense.

We live in a fallen world. So do priests, and the church. There will always be sin among the clergy and it is right to be angry. To even have one’s faith shaken. But is one’s faith contingent on priestly perfection? God said “vengeance is mine; I will repay” and that shepherds who mislead their flock will be judged the harshest. And I wonder if you truly believed in what mattered most: the real holy presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. That salvation depends on both faith and works. That “where two or three are gathered, God is present.” If you did, I can understand becoming Orthodox where you can still receive holy communion. But leaving the church altogether strongly suggests you didn’t. Our relationship with Jesus is spirituality. Religion is worship in community where we can be corrected and receive formation. It seems to me many ex-Catholics, who were already weak of faith and had one foot out the door, used the abuse scandals as a convenient exit. Just be honest.
