@@barrymicockner Rupert and Lachlan are trying to wrest the future control of Rupert’s media empire away from the other family members who would have equal control after Rupert's death. That is a power grab. The reason they are doing so is that they believe the company will be more profitable if it stays heavily tilted to the right. That is all about money and distorting facts or outright lying as in the Dominion case. It will obviously hurt their family fighting it out in court. How can you not see such simple logic? You also admit in your reply it involves money and power whilst claiming it has nothing to do with it. 🤦

@@personal_finance_au I too find it strange. I've been an information lawyer now for 41 years. You'd have to be an insider to know the reason with confidence. There is inconsistency. Comments from what I've seen are typically turned off on Facebook, yet recently I've noticed how often they are open on KZbin. Both platforms are under the legal jurisdiction of the United States, though that is probably a not relevant observation. As far as defamation law is concerned the position is that there is exposure in Australia under Australian courts if you say something online even if it be on or in a foreign jurisdiction platform or publication. That legal position follows the High Court of Australia's decision, which I consider unfortunate, in Fairfax Media Publications Pty Ltd v Voller; Nationwide News Pty Limited v Voller; Australian News Channel Pty Ltd v Voller [2021] HCA 27.

And it fits the family tradition through three generations, from Keith almost getting Australian Gen. John Monash, the finest commander of the First World War, fired just because he was of German Jewish ancestry, to Rupert creating deep divisions in Australian, British and American politics over almost the past 70 years, to now Lachlan placing his own wealth and far right ideology ahead of country. The other siblings are proposing a much needed break with that pattern, to stop stirring the pot and causing divisions that profoundly weaken our three countries. If Lachlan wins, it's going to help our enemies. That's it.

His younger brother was in charge of Asian sector which has star Mumbai and that network had some toxic idiots working there.Anyway coming from family especially my fathers side which was very grounded in justice fairness my great grand father to grand father, before they faut hogaye divided everything absolutely in equal measure to all their children irrespective of gender both male female children got piece of lands relocated of course had they been still in lyallpur pre partition, where my great grandfather owned not one but number of lands villages.. nevertheless moving forward that fairness travels down and for me also it is the same with your children has to be treated fair by dividing equally whatever you have, so children never have bitterness with each other and harmony between them prevails while life is going to leave you at some time.
