love the connection and the sensitivity the interviewer brings to the conversation. Hannah Gadsby is funny to me when she is nervous, but in this Interview, I think she feels more comfortable, which brings a diffetent depth, I think. I wish there had been KZbin and Hannahs when I was an adolescent and I am very grateful that nower days kids have access to a diversity of rolemodels. Also that it starts tobe possible for diverse people to be successful or famous without hiding parts of their personalities, but being appreciated for them.

Every interview I see with Hannah makes me like her even more. What's particularly impressive is that she is so genuine and thoughtful that she brings the interviewer along with her. She rarely gives a glib, superficial answer to anything, and the interviewer starts asking more focused questions and mirroring the authenticity.

Thank you, Hannah Gadsby. I just had an A-ha moment at 50 years of age hearing your off-the-cuff, yet deeply profound remark "I grew up homophobic". I just realised: So did I. I just never thought about in those terms before. Four words that sum up a concept I've always taken paragraphs to explain. I've just experienced a shift in my consciousness. xox

I love Hannah as well I think she is brilliant in so many different ways. I especially liked her in a comedy series we had in AU called "please like me". However unfortunately no matter how nice you are and how much you respect her I don't think she would share your enjoyment of dinner with you. No offence but I just get that feeling her HF ASD would see to that.

Everyone has different tastes. I love Hannah's stories, her intelligence, honesty and vulnerability, and I suppose not everyone can feel a connection on this level, for whatever the reason. Looking at even the most adored entertainers on youtube, there are always negative reactions; it's part of life. Likewise, I probably wouldn't like the things that the 'negative' people here would find interesting; I just wouldn't it to waste my time. We need diversity, otherwise, the world would be uninteresting and simplistic. That said, I find Gadsby's interviews and videos deep, touching, honest, and yes, TO ME, funny.

I hope Nanette the barista has seen this but I also hope she hasn’t seen this interview. I hope I’m not a stressed out barista at that age. Life is so harsh and so amazing all at once. Hannah is my idol. I just wrote a new song listening to this I was so inspired. I am autistic and she makes me feel normal but ok to be the weirdo I am. Autism is a disability but brings such an honest perspective of life. Black and white but also we see the greys clearly and cannot understand why this world is the way it is at the same time as fully understanding it. I just wish everyone would be nice to one another. Life just isn’t that simple. Once you learn the emotional part of your brain is bigger than the logical part and when they collide and we use facts to declare or force our perspectives on others it becomes a never ending battle, a vicious cycle that makes no sense in the most beautiful sensical way. U dig? We are not better than animals we are animals with massive brains to create guns, dynamite and all sorts of amazing things from the earth that sustains our very being. Then we blow it up to make more space, more roads, more petrol, more money. Why can’t we value the earth as much as it values us. I dunno if the earth values us at all anymore. Kill capitalism. Stop fining me for practising my voice of not wanting to vote for a bunch of maniacs anymore. That is my vote. Gillard was against gay marriage. I can no longer vote labor cos it is all crass lies to gain more votes at the very expense of the people they apparently represent. Gay marriage vote shouldn’t have happened. Debating others existence and right to live is deplorable. But hey they is life and I have said my rant. I must participate in this madness or I will die alone in a shack. Good day people 😂😃🥰

Great interview, I remember hearing about the Yes vote in the car on the radio. I felt so relieved I burst into tears. Growing up is hard enough as it is. My godfather, who was probably trans in the 80s just disappeared. I don't know what happened to him. I remember all the 'poof**' jokes as a child. Everyone thought that it was funny & gross at the same time. Thank goodness times are changing. But we are not free, until all are free. It's amazing how many people can't resist the urge to discount someone else's perceptions of life, simply because they have a different perception. Also how they feel such a strong urge to tell people who and what they are. I find it absurd! All the people who feel the need to do so ought to be renamed with societies view of their biggest flaw. Imagine being named insincere, cold, cruel, petty..... Hannah is funny to many, others may find her unfunny, but in the end comedy is a form of art, and art is about individuals perception of the piece. Kudos to Hannah for her bravery.

People that are by all outside appearances "right" are threatened by the success of our(I'm unbelievably just like you, but not at all either, except for all the ways I am) defies and challenges all they've always known. And obviously we're having more fun success ease reward and they're now jealous/envy and again we remain quite humble. So they all think. Hahaha I search for the best expression of myself best understanding of myself best exercise for the best revelation of my undiscovered self and you are the best fit, feeling, foundation to find a purpose to spotlight for meaning. Thank you Hannah ..... Sincerely Jessica

I don’t agree with everything she says, but I will say this, she never was trying to be funny with nanette. She specifically said that she was trying to change the entire framework of what stand up means. I’m in the performing arts myself and I have thought before what it would be like if stand up was not limited solely to just being funny. So let’s maybe take all the parameters off and get really creative. It doesn’t have to be called comedy but that’s ok.

I came here to understand her appeal & I was reminded that she's just trying to navigate thru making a living like the rest of us. I did some stand up & was a musician & both require you thicken your skin. Don't take reactions too personally. You trouble shoot alot, like you would for a crying baby. That's the trick I think. Your audience payed hard earned money for you to take their edge off; to escape from the stress & nothing less. Like babies they just want relief. If dealing with that depresses her too much, at some point it may be healthier to parlay what she knows into something that avoids the immediate negative reactions that always come with the territory. It seems writing for others, collaborations for screen plays & such. She has a schtick; maybe charactor acting.
