I just don’t see how you can hate on Abdullah man. He is humble and possible future undisputed champ. IMO I think he needs to be stepped up after this. Needs to go for a major title very very soon!
@randombanter75533 ай бұрын
Nope, look at what happened to Jared Anderson. He was hyped up for his skill and how effortlessly he made things look, but the flaws he had went unexposed until Martin Bakole came in and broke him down. Even at 130, title contenders could exploit similar flaws in Abdullah Mason if he doesn't clean up and mature first. Anderson vs. Bakole showed just how quickly things can go south if you rush a young fighter. There are grown-ass men in their physical and skill primes at the top who’d take out Abdullah Mason without breaking a sweat. Let him grow and mature for a few more years. I can definitely see him being a serious problem down the line, but not just yet.

@randombanter75533 ай бұрын
@@humblequan5221 that's a fair assessment but even in this very fight there were some openings that I know that top level light weights would expose him for. Jared needed a few more years in the oven. I genuinely believe he would've had a better chance if he spent a few more years cleaning up before going for the top guys, hope job or not he was green and got exposed by mature power, and Abdullah got hit with way too many easy fhots on the face which would be dangerous if they had peak level athlete power behind them

Villaraga gave Mason a good lesson here. Mason needed this fight, where he met a guy who landed nice shots on him. Mason is counting very much on his speed and power. When doing so, he has little head movement, and drops down his guard when punching. Villaraga took good advantage in the guard dropping and headmovement, counter punching fast and accurate with both hands, and landed beautiful shots. If he have had more power, this could have ended with a big surprise. This was an entertaining fight👍

You never want to get hit, but it's boxing, you going to get hit. Mason trying to look impressive. To do that he press. When he press he open to counters. He could fought off the backfoot and stayed out of the mid range game but then the people won't be talking. I see a lot of the same in Boots. The skill allows them to be hit much less, but they trying to sell. So they press and take chances. Neither Mason or Boots talkers or thugs so they got to get the people talking other ways. Mason got it. Wo Der when they going to step him up. When they do I'm thinking Jo Jo Diaz.

I love how ESPN/Top Rank gasses all these fighters up. They are both trash but I give the DAZN crew credit because they dont gas up their fighters like Top Rank/ESPN does. I mean look at one of the comments here talking about possible undisputed champion. He has fought no one. He wont fight anyone for another 3 years if not longer. Im sure all you who love hyping up these Top Rank fighters were REALLY thinking that Jared Anderson was going to beat Martin Bakole. I think a lot of it is because you believe the hype Joe Tessitore puts out there and the other part is you all not really understanding what you are watching. Then you all hate on a guy like Lomachenko who fights 2 divisions above the weight he really should be fighting at. Not only that…he fights dudes in that division who should really be fighting at 140 and even 147. But sure…keep gassing these Top Rank fighters coming up as they continue to fight cans then get wrecked when they finally fight someone….just like Anderson.
