The lady in the beret who quickly realised she wasn't supposed to touch the reins, decided to touch the guard's stirrup and then stuck her hand under his coat instead for Heaven's sake. I really don't believe that not speaking English is any sort of excuse for invading another person's personal space to this extent! I don't imagine the woman in the maroon coat would offer her hand to shake one of her own country's soldiers. It's time the British Tourist Board altered their advertisments in foreign countries to include a notice that members of this country's armed forces are not photographers props, and deserve to be treated with respect. 🤬

To be fair, said idiot lady wasn't looking where her hand was, so I don't think that was a deliberate move on her part. But it's interesting that the lady before her had made a grab for the reins as well. The lady in the beret seemed to be aware where her hand was. The boxman didn't seem to be aware of it because I am sure he would have warned her off.

Most of the planet runs on cars now... horses at racetracks are very protected and private stables are few & far between. Those who live & work with horses are not always wealthy enough to travel as tourists. These people are the 'rich' ones who get away from home and don't have to step around horse droppings at home, so NO, they have no damn idea and THEY CAN'T READ THE SIGNS SAYING 'DON'T TOUCH THE REINS'. They're being told by their tour guide to touch the reigns. You can see the confusion on their faces. He must want them them to have the "Don't touch the reigns!!" shout experience...thinking it's something fun. The guard NOT shouting out foils this. ..hence they kept trying to touch the reigns. In another video, because touching of the reigns didn't work, they were re-directed to go back and touch the rider's foot. Again, the rider did not react and they did not get their "thrill". So, it's still a game of "Dare".

There is no alternative now,is there? The Guards and the horses need to be totally out of bounds. I know they can't seal off the pavement but there could be lines drawn on the pavement and hourists could be forbidden to enter that area. The Guards outside Buckingham Palace had to be moved into the area behind the fence because the tourists were being too bothersome. It's time we defended our Guards and their mounts from tourists and the devious,unscrupulous guides.

How bloody thick was the woman in the maroon coat? Every time she grabbed the rein, even though it was obvious she wasn't supposed to because the guard kept moving it out of her way. I was once in China and was threatened with arrest because I walked into Tiannanmen Square when it was closed, which I didn't know. Many of these tourists really need to understand that here in the UK we do NOT maul the Guards horses, and it is not acceptable to start touching ANY part of the Guards! These Guards are on duty! I do know that in their own countries, it would certainly NOT be recommended to treat the soldiers in any but the most humble manner! If tour guides decide to misinform tourists as to the acceptable manner, then they should certainly be either publicly "dressed down" of love all privileges!

How are the Soldiers expected to know or predict,what tourist will do when they step towards the horse, for their photos ??!! Some want the horses attention, some nervous ones are told to get close to horse, and there are those that put their children close to a horse, not even being aware of a very Restless horse. Oh, and those that can't control where their hands go, when they stare at the camera. The lack of Caution, Responsibility and Awareness of where they are standing, and also the lack of Politeness. no.. too dangerous to the rider and horse.. there is much to spook a horse n that location.. and theyneed to be able to move about a little freely.. putting a barrier in front would mean danger. PLUS the pavement is a historic public thoroughway.. it cannot be reduced just like that. In addition, it would reduce the space for legitimate pedestrians making them be in danger of passing traffic. trhis won;t happen.

It was almost 20 years ago when my family was in London for the 1st time. I was thrilled that we could even come within 10 feet of the guards and their horses! We did get a picture of our 7 year old granddaughter near the horse guardsmen and his horse. BUT...we told had her stand at least 6 feet away and warned her at that time that the horse could kick or bite. I hope the guard knew we were making a effort to respect his duty. Our own son was in the U.S. Navy then and we would never have thought it okay to touch a serviceman's uniform on guard duty. I agree with all of the people that think there should be more barriers between these tourists and the guards.

Absolutely, I enjoy looking at the videos but similarly I find myself upset by tourists who disrespect the Troopers & the Horses. True, sometimes it is the fault of tourist guides who actually tell them to hold on the reins. Are tourust guides not regulated or certified to ensure they don't give bad & wrong advice to those under their care? Worst some even give their own incorrect description. So can't really blame all tourists - we were only listening to the tourist guide. No one likes being yelled at for minor infringements we don't know exist. Why can't the warning sign board include not to touch the horses' reins or to not get in the way of the Guards on duty. Sure, they have MOD police (some countries may refer to them as Military Police). Those armed police may well be Meyropolitan Police. The place is a military area and thus the Military Police has their responsibilties. But like Metropolitan Police they don't want to be said to be heavy handed abd drive away tourist. But a more strict profile and taking away (even if handcuffing if necessary) to take recalcitrant to room for a video-recorded dressing down and release is good enough. What is most disconcerting are the Karens and hooligans (local & foreign) - they have a mental issue who seem to take pleasure in disrespecting the Troopers for a spectacle. Again an escorted trip by armed guards (handcuff, if necessary) will knock some sense to them. Do it again, then call the Police in to charge them in court. Finally, I don't understand why for many years this has been going on and no one "up there" won't decide to rope barrier space for the Guards, Troopers & Horses to do their thing with dignity yet afford photo taking opportunities. This is not an animal petting zoo but a military station. The procedures are part of British history & culture and tourists (& locals) should respect.

They all were idiots, women were holding the reins. Some of them was even touching the guards boots, his foot, this was ridiculous. Tour guides teacher people the rules before you even get to the place where you are going. $#$#$!&_ ya I said it.
