So abe no seimi definitely has to be gouto from the raidou games. Especially since his childhood name is douji and shinoda shrine is so important to his story. I wonder what in abe no seimi's life warranted him being turned into a cat by yatagarasu. If not, then seimi is at least the founder of the clan.

No, D/Taoism was an influence of the practice, as was Shintoism, Buddhism etc.
