I haven't seen Abel that bare bones in a long time! Just shows there is more than one way to do things.

I was worried I was only one that does crazy projects like that with projects and projects everywhere until somebody understands finally what I'm doing and it makes sense to them and then they're like oh great that's a great idea

Massive amount of remodel is such a short time! Phenomenal implementation on the bed lift! Love it!!

If I showed all of the footage on the cutting room floor you would see how slow I actually am...the power of clever editing and timelapse segments...

Considering it’s only been, what, 2 weeks since we saw you…major kudos for the changes!!! Wish I had your thoughts and ingenuity.

@@blazeourway4049 you guys made me jealous and it was time for a remodel now that we know a bit more about the LMTV platform. I am trying to make the most out of a tiny space. I like to make progress with the ideas I have before I ultimately forget them...

Love the creativity, again. So, Since the Lippert Happijack or their newer belt lift they are stingy with, and charge a fortune, I'm forced to build my own as well. I was eyeballing Broke Overlands too. I'm trying to use a single lifting mechanism, and use a separate device to adjust pitch, so to level out the bed. Thanks for posting!

I was thinking of incorporating a hijac bed system too. This is a great option. For the bed crank can you connect the cranks closer to one wall? Then connect the 2 cranks to another crank, then using a hammer drill or regular hand drill on low torque to power raise and lower both sides at same time? There are a number of trailer conversions with a similar set up that have it synced up nicely. Side note. Utilitarian look is very cool but my Army mentality reminds me of the best Army phrase: "If it moves, Oil it. If it doesn't, paint it." Plus you put so much work on the outside with painting and functionality doesn't the interior deserve the same? Either way it's your incredible creation and vision that keeps the thousands of us coming back and provides years of enjoyment for you and your family. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊

I thought about making it more elaborate but I keep reverting back to the K.I.S.S. method otherwise in the middle of nowhere it will bite me hard...

“I’m not an expert, this is something I’m trying. It may work it may not. The bonus is if you try to do something yourself, you’ll always learn something. That’s something I’ve used in my life over and over and over again.” I appreciate hearing that. The statement may be obvious to you, but that’s not a code many people live by. Your project, and specifically the bed lift system prototype is epic- sure there’s room for improvement, but you made the idea real. Very cool and applicable technology when done right.

thought you were going to use those pillow blocks to make a crank the would wind all 4 up at once.
@SeanFillner3 жыл бұрын
I thought about it and decided this was much simpler. Those pillow blocks were 9 bucks shipped for a pair so I can save them for something else.

Very cool. I looked at a surplus shelter like this. It looked like too big of a project for me. I opted for a fiber optic trailer. Thanks for sharing.

This is an s680. Never surplus. Much better than the s280

Seems like a good design that is going to work well. I might move the cranks to one side or other so not to crack ones skull on them when it’s in the up position.
@SeanFillner3 жыл бұрын
I am sure I will make adjustments to it as needed. This was basically to test if my "theory" or design would actually work.
