Great improvement in closure and position over part one. I am happy that you are happy with the mod 👍👍

I got the new 200 pound struts and it closes all the way now since the ends are metal and not plastic.

@@SeanFillner I was wondering how those were going to work out…👍👍 Excellent…you can always do part three 😉 Or maybe just a “short” to show the final configuration. I am trying to tackle how to add some solar but not lose the cargo hauling ability on mine…I probably can’t dedicate more than the cab roof. Will research further…

Great job, Sean , What did that put your total watts at?
@SeanFillner
@SeanFillner Жыл бұрын
1120+540. In reality though the best I will see is 1100 watts due to losses and inefficiency. I tested it the other day and I was getting about 940-1050 just sitting in my driveway.

I wonder if the air at hiway speeds will push against the panels. Thinking adding a stop bumper between the panels and the bottom of the camper box.

My only concern might be with a side wind as you're driving down the freeway catching the inside lip or inside edge I'm putting undue stress on it. Perhaps a latch on each corner

I guess it would be a concern if there were nowhere for the wind to go but alas it is a tunnel with an opening on the other side....

watched many of your videos. Been trying to get many youtubers who drive the globe in a LMTV . NOBODY seems to want to answer anything. I am a fulltime overlander and starting my journey to Argintina in January. I will be posting videos of my last 6 months in the NE of USA and Canada, Unfortunately, after driving ,12000 miles with about 7000 miles in dirt, mud, hills, etc my fully built up 2023 Chevy 2500 has failed and failed many times. Mainly suspension issues. I'm considering again of buying a LMTV from Midwest Military equipment. so the question I have asked many with zero feedback maybe you would be willing to answer this. How reliable are these LMTVs? Is 8mpg a good guess on what to expect? How many miles have you driven in your LMTV? This is a big discission and all help on this will be very much appreciated. Taking a truck with 13 computers and apparently can't handle thousands of miles offroad while weighing 10k pounds is not something i really want to continue in. Im looking at the LMTV 1078A1 (i think) it has the communication box on the back, sort of like your setup. I thank you in advance.

Check out my adventures with Abel playlist I created. We have had Abel for almost 6 years now and he has been the most reliable (surprisingly) vehicle either of us have owned with over 30,000 miles of driving in all kinds of harsh conditions. I don't know our MPG because we did not buy the truck for MPG we bought it to get places and the cost was not a concern of ours. If I were to guess I would say 7 with just the truck and 9 while pulling any type of trailer (I know, odd right?). We would consider this truck ultra reliable but keep in mind I am super meticulous about maintenance and fixing things immediately no matter where we are at. I would not buy an A1 version but would not hesitate to buy a C7 version. We love the simplicity of the mechanical setup. Thanks for tuning in.
