My mum was from Abergavenny and I used to holiday at my grandparents every summer for years. Visit the castle next time and if you had walked on beyond the war memorial it would have taken you down to the river Usk and there is a nice riverside walk back into town. Tuesday market day used to be the really big one with a huge farmers market and and 3 other markets selling usual market wares. Bailey Park is worth a visit too.

Hi Mike great video, glad you are coming back, you should definitely go to the castle and also see the tapestry in the Tithe barn, if you are coming on farmers market day there is also a night market in the evening selling lots of lush street food 😊

Love it. I lived in Aber for a year and started High School (KHS) there before moving to Australia. That would be 50 years ago. Only been back once. Loved living there. I remember watching Zulu in the cinema one Saturday night. Lived in Delafield Road.

@@Spudboys I’m in Adelaide. It’s a lovely city but I do love Aber. It’s a special little town. My dad was from Nantyglo and my uncle lived in Crickhowell. That whole area is magical.

Abergavarians in abershitney are so totally corrupt, as are Monmouthshire County Council, plod of wales, nhs wales, Monmouthshire mason, Monmouthshire councillors, mind Monmouthshire, , etc. Abershitney is the most hostile place in wales for disabled, mentally unwell and vulnerable humans, they do nothing to help, support or legal, they just ban undesirable humans from existing. Ban from all emergency services, ban you from medical care /assistance, ban you from all help, support and contacting NHS Wales direct, ban you from using 999, 111 etc numbers, ban you from stopping on roundabouts, on/under bridges, interrogate you if you go out at night on a mobility scooter and if you do anything of the above you will be arrested, taken to court, fined £2500 and given a criminal record and run the risk of having your mobility scooter removed by these corrupt public organisations. Abergavarians are so full of falsehoods and no you can not have a lawyer to defend you. Abershitney is hell on Earth.

Wow, thank you for the comment. I don't really know what to say apart from I'm sorry you have been treated like that. We just come to explore the amazing town and learn a little bit about the history. It's such a shame that what you said is going on, is there anyone that you can speak to that can help you out? I find it crazy how they can arrest you for driving your scooter at night. Surely there is no law stopping you from doing it.
