So if you have gained possession of the ball while on one knee, you can dribble and get up?

Yes!

In the first example (1:56) I'm assuming if you determine that the player purposefully juggled the ball, that would be a travel, correct?

I know of 4 delay of game warnings but you said that it is 5. What is the fifth?

LOL. I've made that mistake many times before as well. There are five correctable errors but only for situations that incur a team warning for delay. My slip of the tongue

in scenario when airborne shooters ball is touched and returns to floor with ball, which is a travel, is it a held ball call only when defender and shooter return to floor still in contact with ball?
@BetterOfficials3 жыл бұрын
Dave, it would be a held ball if the defender prevented the release of a try or pass by an airborne player.

Is it significant that B1 is also airborne? Does this ruling change if B1 contacts the ball while on the floor and only A1 is airborne?

Just before minute 36, did you leave that play with a no-call or put air in the whistle for a travel? Referring to the JV tournament game where a player lifted one foot but kept the other knee down.

A1 and A2 grab the ball simultaneously, A1 pulls A2 in one direction causing A2 to move both feet? Ruling would be traveling on A2? Possession awarded to team B? If A1 and B1 grab simultaneously, A1 pulls B1 in one direction causing B1 to move both feet? Ruling would be traveling on B1? Possession awarded to team A? Or would the second scenario be ruled a jump ball because both teams had possession?

Really good scenarios!

Your sitch 1: The case play would suggest a traveling violation on A2

Your sitch 2: Wow. Not so obvious. Usually in this scenario we get a held ball.

Maybe I'm over-thinking here, but in CS #3 how can a "dribbler catch a pass"? How is this possible? :)

Hi Keith! Can you give me a time stamp on the play?
@BetterOfficials3 жыл бұрын
Okay, I have it. The language may be loose, but this refers to a dribbler terminating their dribble by catching the ball with one foot on the floor jumping and Landing with two feet
