I like this guy reading. Drinking and getting drunk as he goes. It's like reading at home or something. He really got mad at that dog.

vernonclassic Well, I know Dennis the menace published a few joke books. Maybe you could read oneof those and hone your jests to a level where they're at least identifiable.

This is the Conan I love! I rteally prefer the non- Howard stories anyway, he kinda short-shifted us when he left Conan with no origins or continuity of timeline.

Great voice, combined with the low(ish) sound quality it sounds very much like a tape of an 80s audio book. Very authentic!

At 1:47:10 , the reader quotes the strange woman, the female sorceress Conan encounters before he frees Sabotai (First time I found out it was she who kept him captive unlike the film, where that was not quite what happened, but it might have. it might be that she kept him on longer leash, & unbound, but captive. Believe me, I know this from personal experience.) Anyway, the quote is "It matter not, his (Your?) spine will be nailed to a tree" It's hard to tell wether she mean her captive, or Conan, but I figured she mean the former, not the latter.

With a voice like this, and considering the story, the narration had potential to be epic, but all it amounted to was repugnance. I've listened to a few narrators here, this is by far the most impertinent, whether it's smacking his lips and sighing in your ear every time he takes a sip(which is throughout what I could stomach of the reading), randomly cursing out neighbors, burping or burp-talking, or the travesty that is Doom's "voice". I wanted to stop once he went off on a tangent about his neighbors, but pressed on to see if Conan and Doom's conversation had been extended more than the movie when Conan got caught. I finally reach that point just to hear him voice Doom like he's Skeletor's baby sister - I checked out after that. I'd rather listen to Amy or Jon any day of the week, won't listen to a book narrated by him again(not that they're still adding books).

this is good I'm enjoying it I like it I appreciate it but it is not canon and does not fit into Robert E Howard history of Conan
@vidstarr7 жыл бұрын
I thought Conan's father was called Corin, not Nile. That's who Ron Perlman was credited as on IMDB.com in the last film they made. Not sure about his mother being called Maeve or Medb, ether, but this sounds more fitting if they are like the Celts.

1:15:25 Im calling total BS on this!! Conan never killed anyone in that manner what to speak of a woman. whoever wrote this crap attempting to add the burden of their lame outlook upon the nobility of the Hawordian hero archetype is clueless. not one of Howard's Heroes ever kills a woman child or any helpless individual

I'm thinking This is basically the script for the 1982 movie, it's definitely not canon. He meets Valeria in Red Nails

this is one of the most horrendous narrations I have ever heard. no professionalism whatsoever, barely an effort, insulting to both the author and the listeners.

WRONG!!!! Conan ....what is best in life?
@vidstarr7 жыл бұрын
Not that bad really, unless your referring to the sound of him opening a tinny before starting and the swearing under his breath. Not such a bad audio at all.
@codelicious65905 ай бұрын
Oh, I think, "barely an effort" is just annoyance talking; the sounds of "gulp, aaaaahhhhh" grind my gears super hard but I made it nearly all the way through due to the actual effort put into it and the voices are proof of that effort, aside from the aforementioned noises, some mispronounced words and the frothing neighbor cursing (with which I unfortunately sympathize) its a damn good effort. I imagine reading aloud for long periods of time requires a bit of practice to get good and this guy will do well if he smooths it out a bit.
