I am working as a senior alp in indian railways. We only follow railway signals and speed restrictions. Indian Railways does not focus on loco cabin. There is no AC, toilet in the cabin. In summer season the temperature inside the locomotive goes around 50°. Despite of all these problems we focus on our duty & serve for the nation. Rip to all departed souls😢🙏

Have you ever booked in premium Tatkal ? Premium Tatkal is dynamic and it can go upto 3x the normal fare in demanding areas. Sometimes flight ticket seems cheaper than Premium Tatkal. I live in North Bengal, more precisely in Siliguri. When I first visited Southern Bengal in 2012, I was so amazed by watching electric locos. Now at the age of 20 i realised how undeveloped the railway system was in North Bengal, by the year of 2016 the electrification process was started and now almost 90% of the electrification job is done. And the most awaited railway project is the Sivok - Rongpo Rail route, it will connect Sikkim and West Bengal.

As a kid, I have a special connection with Railways especially India!! My maternal grandfather worked in Indian Railways and as a kid i used to travel in train every summer vacation to visit relatives from Gujarat to Rajasthan with my mom!!!! My dad has had a travelling job his whole life and he never felt the need to travel by plane. He loves driving and travelling by trains especially in night. He feels that the night trains in Northern India and North-West India are really comfortable!!! Like just go to sleep in the night train, complete your sleep schedule and you can have a good day attending the destination the next morning. Complete the job and board the return train in evening and reach by morning. Even as I’m writing this comment, I’m writing while travelling in train. I lived in Ukraine and even after living there for 6 years, I still think Indian Railways has been the best and has improved significantly over the last 2 decades or so. No country has achieved the rate of electrification this fast and the amount of electrification that has been done is quite commendable!!!!! I have to salute the Indian Railways for serving the public even after facing so many difficulties!!!

Great work Abi and Niyu. I am a frequent solo traveler, and I always choose trains if there is service available over any other mode of travel. Indian railways are doing a remarkable job at providing affordable services for its huge population. We as a nation should understand it is very much essential to make railways profitable and not barely scrape through every year. Although I agree not everything is perfect, much of it is to do with common people like us. It pains my heart to see people spitting paan/gutka even in the wash basins, not maintaining the hygiene of washrooms to even miscreants throwing stones on moving trains etc. We need to make railways attractive for more commuters and it is only possible when our mindset changes and realize railways is our property and we need to respect it as we respect our home. I am from ladakh and i think ladakh is the only place where there is no railway yet. I can understand that it is not easy to operate it here easily but when we have to travel we have two options roadways and airways. Roadways ia not so easy because it takes 3 4 days to reach delhi. I guess 2 year back, In a railway report I also read that Mugs worth 1.97 crore were stolen from railways. + Linen worth of crores were also stolen. And sad part is to recover the cost of those linen the amount is deducted from those IRCTC employees (who serve foods, clean compartments) in the train .

We need to upgrade Indian Railways & make it a profit business model like Delhi metro. Also, all the vacant posts of the Railways must be filled immediately as there is currently huge shortage of staff due to various scams & paper leaks like RRB NTPC scam, etc. Also, condition of passenger travel must be improved like good quality food & sanitation. This will help in reducing road dependency & train accidents.

I think for not wasting water for cleaning coaches they have cover the outside of the coach with the extra layer of plastic or anything else they found good and remove them after use i think it's a good solution

Dear Abhi and Niyu, I would like to suggest you that you can make a video in which you have mentioned only the Spitting on and in the train, I would like to point out few things which may help in reducing the expenses over a period of time. The points are as follows: 1. Remove paper based ticket system and issue card system 2. every passengers shall hold card, recharge that card with money and tickets should be updated in that card as mentioned in the manual ticketing system. 3. The card shall have all the details of the passenger like Name, Address, Age, etc as required. 4. TT has to have a machine where he has to tap that card on that machine so that he can verify whether the actual person is travelling or not. 5. Tickets have to be issued based on the card number instead of name as in the current manual system. By doing so there will be capital expenditure for one time but there will be revenue expenditure with regard to paper ticket will reduce every year. 6. The card shall be issued with nominal charge and shall be issued very carefully taking all security precautions. 7. The cards can be used for the ticketing and can also be used for paying the catering services or platform tickets etc., 8. Proper security check has to be brought in force as we have in the airports where the gutkas, pan masalas, liquors, drunk persons etc are not allowed for carry and travelling, by doing so the maintenance cost for cleaning of trains will reduce. 9. The railways should use modern technolongy to clean the Trains instead of the old ways. 10. The security personnel should be very strict as equvialent to the security check in the airports. 11. Railways has to be made equvialent to airport with regardt to check in, Baggages, etc.. So that the standard of the Railways will increase and the general public will also get educated for using the Government based transportaions. Kyu ki sabko Farak Padtha hai.

The First thing Indian railways should improve is the time management. No one can certainly say at what time a train will reach. Thats the reason many people prefer cars or flights. If only trains reach on time. I cant remember how many times i have missed my office just because my train stopped just out Bangalore for an hour or two and it is a super fast express.

I am currently working in commercial department of Indian Railways and have noticed people hesitating to buy a 5 rupees ticket. Many times they deliberately do not buy a ticket for traveling. Some people have even told me that travel should be free in trains! Sometimes parents don't buy ticket for their kids. Until and unless this mindset changes the country can't prosper.
