Meiteis are the only community who pay taxes in Manipur & rest are all beneficiaries. Every development in Manipur is due to tax paid by Meiteis and other tax payers of India. But the Irony is that Meiteis are made confined in valley region, not allowing to settle anywhere in their own state because of Land revenue act 1961. And other communities can buy land anywhere in the state. Meiteis shares resources for decades from valley, and when they ask for reciprocate, all communities are opposing it by Saying “we don’t want your valley land anymore’ after all the benefits used up from valley for decades. You know how it sounds like? It sounds like kids saying ‘I will eat from your plate but you can’t from me. I don’t want to eat from your plate anymore because you started asking to share equally”. And Kukis reaction to these with violence is so stupid and uneducated response.

There was no one who could speak truth so boldly about this conflict since May 2023. The amount of insight he has about history of Manipuri and Manipur is highly appreciable. The history can't be removed, truth can't be covered. We metei don't have to prove that we are indigenous. 13th August, the day Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General were hanged, we remember and mourn the day as "Martyr's Day", one of the ancient scriptures in the world "meitei mayek" is still alive. "Chahi taret khuntakpa"( 7 yrs of exploitation) by the Burmese, what was the role of meitei ema " meira paibi", how metei kings had to flee at "Cachar" and regain freedom we know everything! Since childhood more than 20yrs back, we have heard the bombings, shootings, insurgency, terrorism what cruelty metei have suffered we know it. Every single metei know about "Monoroma" and why Irom Sharmila went fasting for 10 yrs. How many childrens and people sacrificed their lives for "Inner Line Permit". We all know it. And all these knowledge are coming from a metei from Cachar(Silchar), then there's no question about metei from Manipur. We studied "Ema lon" and our textbooks does have history of Kangleipak. Yes, it's gonna take time, our metei people suffered and will still suffer. Our land has invaded, we lack unity, we don't have proper guidance, we have different mindsets among the family but never ignore the history. If meteis were weak, we wouldn't have survived till date. Kangleipak ki echin enau sing, cachar da metei echil enau sing leiri haibasi kaubiganu! Angangba mateng pangjage. Mitop na yum thugaibadadi oithoktabni!
