I'm a naga from Manipur, and I don't support to any violence or communities. I've seen through the communal fights between Naga & Kuki and Meitei & Naga in the past. However, I agree to what Dr. Bimol said about the anger of meitei, I've never seen them so angry/aggressive before like this time. I believe the situations would not have been escalated too far without provocations and reasons, on both sides though. And to religious fundamentalists -- this is NOT a war based on religion Hindu or Christian or Muslim or any other religions. It is between communities. Please avoid aggravating the issues by propagating or derogating any religion. There are already many people death and suffering within our friends, families, and neighbors. Pray for peace in Manipur without being bias to any communities.

I want peace and it's far better than violence, but this time they cross beyond the limit , Meiteis never been in this state of anger so far , we have been provoked for many times and always kept silent but this time the matter is different, they tried to divide the land into two and unfortunately no one is taking serious to defend or help manipur (our motherland) even Indian government, I think it's a duty of everyone who lives in manipur to retaliate against kukis . Tears comes to my eyes when Professor talk about "hand bite by mother to son or daughter when they left home for work". For non-meiteis - its significance is - I (mother) cut & throw out all the danger in ur way, come back home safely. It is usually performed by a mother for son or daughter but when Professor explain in the retaliatory attack any elder of no relationship bite the hand of voluntary defence member, I can't stop my tear 😢😢. It has very deep emotional attachment for us (Meiteis). 🙏🙏

Northeast India is an elitist ethnographic zoo, as are other tribals/minority areas throughout India including kashmir. This is a hangover from the British era meant to limit Indian influence. Indian influence is natural as you can see in southeast asia. The tribal areas are economically stagnant areas, the tribals are hostile to outsiders and blame them for all their problems as they are misled by foreign religious organisations. ST have a poor reputation when it comes to work ethics. They don’t have any incentive to work and develop their states when there are reservations that don’t reward merit. Same BS since 1947 meant to keep Indian citizens out of tribal areas with all kinds of restrictions on rights we take for granted in rest of India . All tribals in northeast are not natives, they are migrants from burma. To the issue at hand, as long as there is no sincere intent to repopulate and integrate tribal areas into the mainstream; do not expect any peace. By this I mean that all Indian citizens should have the right to live whereever they want for work, studies, business, love etc and have freedom of religion and economic rights. Only then will these areas thrive. Obviously Indians generally are not agressive in asserting their rights, so more rowdy castes would have to repopulate with guns first. Fire with fire.

They ask them to join the fox gang as they all are same and they imprisoned the Elephants and demean them and rewarded dogs 15%& hynas 35% the 90% land for there obidience and gave them the cross and humiliate Elephants with just 10% land ...... What's happening in Manipur now is the outcome of India govt's KUKI APPEASEMENT POLICY for electoral gains in favour of BJP and control Meitei insurgency as Indian security forces particularly Assam rifles failed in the counter insurgency operations. Mention-worth incident is loss of 18 Indian soldiers in the Lokchao ambush along Imphal-Moreh NH in the early part of Mr. Narendra Modi's assuming the office of PM of India and another shocking ambush in Churachandpur killing an army officer with his wife and son.

I am from meitei community from Manipur. Often people specially the so called kukis try to portray this conflict between the Hindus and Christians, but the fact is that it's all a lie. Come to Manipur let us go back to the history you will curve out the truth. It all came from the idea of long plan zo nation. The Meiteis were just delivering our duties of protecting our motherland. From time immemorial meiteis were trying to tie a firm bond between various communities residing in Manipur. But one community failed this togetherness. They do not have a sense a belongingness and a patriotic mindset towards Manipur. Please do not bring in religion in this conflict it has nothing to do with this conflict. People were using religion as tools to this conflict. Still there are various churches still standing even in the heart of Manipur. There had never been a religious cleansing activities in Manipur.

Northeast India is an elitist ethnographic zoo, as are other tribals/minority areas throughout India including kashmir. This is a hangover from the British era meant to limit Indian influence. Indian influence is natural as you can see in southeast asia. The tribal areas are economically stagnant areas, the tribals are hostile to outsiders and blame them for all their problems as they are misled by foreign religious organisations. ST have a poor reputation when it comes to work ethics. They don’t have any incentive to work and develop their states when there are reservations that don’t reward merit. Same BS since 1947 meant to keep Indian citizens out of tribal areas with all kinds of restrictions on rights we take for granted in rest of India . All tribals in northeast are not natives, they are migrants from burma. To the issue at hand, as long as there is no sincere intent to repopulate and integrate tribal areas into the mainstream; do not expect any peace. By this I mean that all Indian citizens should have the right to live whereever they want for work, studies, business, love etc and have freedom of religion and economic rights. Only then will these areas thrive. Obviously Indians generally are not agressive in asserting their rights, so more rowdy castes would have to be repopulate with guns first. Fire with fire.

But yeah I do agree with you, they should definitely work on their narratives. What's really surprising is that they were the ones who got attacked in the first place on 3rd of may during the kuki "peace" rally but almost none of their spokespersons seemed to care enough to mention all that in these interviews. Hundreds of thier houses were looted and burned down in ccpur, torbung and moreh by the kukis who were in the rally on the very first day, the day before the Meiteis retaliated with an equal force in the valley on 4th. It was reported all over the news, some old meitei folks who couldn't run and stuff were burned alive inside their houses. The kukis had this issue with the government but they had the audacity to attack a whole community residing in thier areas.

Koubru hills and thangjing ....are where the original meitei tribes came down from to the valley in the ancient times .....I think out of the seven clans one clan came down from these hills and settled in valley and later formed the manipur as we know of today .....that is the reason these hill areas are considered as sacred places where our ancestral divinity resides

It is more of a fabrication. Can you even call it history? It is a mission by the KSO militant group. The very foundation of a khun/cave copying the Naga concept of same origin from a tree (which have been there for decades) speaks volumes of how it is more of a militant ideology unifying the Kukis against the rest of the Manipuri citizens be it Nagas, Meities or Meitei Pangals.
