Meitei or Mei Tai...Mei.means people in Zeliangrong(Kabui group of Nagas) tribe and "Tai means clan called " Tai or Great Tai" So ln mythological aspect about the origin of Meiteis and Zeliangrong Naga ( Kabui group of Nagas),, Meitei is called as Tai Mei ..All clans ended by " mei such as "Zemei,Liangmei, Rongmei,Taimei,Paomei, etc..are the ancestors of Manipur. They live in Makhel village near Koubru Hill...They migrated in all directions.. Taimei (Meitei) descended towards south and lived in Manipur Valley.

Scholars such as Maichou (Pandit) who study Meiteimayek books called ," Puya can explain well about the pre--history of Manipur. Kuki is new name given to a Burmese people living in Khongjai village of Burma. They are named as Khongjai by the tribes of Manipur including the Nagas..Truly speaking Meitei tribe is a descendant of Nagas.

It is quite obvious from this narrative that each communities in Manipur have merged with one another, especially between Meitei, Naga and Kuki people. As a Rongmei( Kabui Naga) I have been told that during the Meitei's clan war many Rongmei ( Kabui ) also helped some particular clan and later merged with the Meitei clan in the valley most probably, the Khuman clan and the Moirang clan( subject to correction).

Fact: Kabaw valley was given to Myanmar in exchange with Andaman and Nicobar Island of Burmese after Indian independence as a part of negotiation with Myanmar by Indian government. Seeing the potential of Andaman and Nicobar on goods/oil transport canal/route, Indian Government (PM Nehru signed it) gave away kabaw valley without any discussion withe natives and Manipuris.

I am from kangpokpi area and Well, influx of illigal kukis and the poppy cultivation can't be denied.. the river in kangpokpi which were parennial till 2000 now runs dry during the autumn season, coz of the destruction of the forest by the kukis. The river in the kuki inhabited area are striped of big stones coz of over quarrying and the use of chemical and battery to fish have suck the lives of river creature. since they are living not in their original land they don't really care about the environment..

48:22 Was there any clashes between the Kukis and the Nagas living in the South? Short Answer: Yes. "As per the accounts of Sir Robert Reids, the Kuki mercenaries massacred about 176 persons of Goitang village and total of about 76 houses were completely razed to ashes." Goitang is a village in Khoupum, Noney District. People there still narrates vividly of the massacre. The Kukis butchered the villagers in the dead of the night when the villagers were fast asleep in their morung after a day of festivities which included cultural dances, cultural sports and drinking of rice beer. It is said that wooden pestles used for pounding rice, usually about 5-10 kilos heavy, were floating from the blood that flowed from the massacre. Many of the Rongmei villages towards South of Khoupum valley were occupied by the Kukis.

After getting Independent Country on 14th August, 1947, Manipur was merged with Indian Union 1949 as Part C- State, in 1956 as Territorial Council, In 1963 as Union Territory, 1972 Manipur declared as Full Pledge State. From the day Manipur Merged with in the Indian Union in 1947, October 15, the revolutionary movement started in the name of" Meitei State Committee (MSC), In 1963 MSC renamed as UNLF and PLA. Sometimes you can be blunt.... Some(not all) officers of the country's Armed forces are conniving with the immigrants against the indigenous people to have a good control over the insurgency situation out here. Some even helping them to rewrite history to validate their claims. It's high time the central Govt look into the matter as maximum indigenous civilians doesn't support insurgents out here. However, they've been victimized because of the incompetancies of those officers. This has become one reason for the anti India feelings amongst the indigenous folks.

However, there are instances of soldiers being doing unethical things ( such issues can be found in Punjab and upper area). In case of Manipur, Assam rifles are being deployed since very long period of time and people of Manipur have faced cruelty from them such as rapes, involving in drug business etc. (again not all of them are same) mistakes happens. Now to encounter meitei insurgency groups, centre and Indian army make a pact with the kuki insurgent groups and signed the so called Soo agreement. Since then the AR( Assam rifles) are bit inclined towards kuki as both are benefiting from each other's. Now the question is , kuki started the clash in churchandpur area and started killing meitei civilians because some miscreants burnt few tyres infront of their so called gate hich by the way is built up by rocks and iron . They should have reported to the police who could have registered the appropriate action would have been taken. However, they almost wiped out the entire population of meitei even army did not interfere ( isn't it amazing). Point #2. There's nothing to say since there was no reference mentioned. Point#3- well said, any action of violence or crime must be dealt as per the law. However, what you see and heard is only from the valley, there is no news coming in or out from their side, since they are in hills. But as meities lives in valley, every nathu and mathu knows what happens in valley even what colour of poty was done. Point#4 - meities aspiration to establish kangleipak. Well Manipur was kangleipak and changed to Manipur after being merged to India. So they are not trying to establish anything instead they are trying to be what they were ( a princely state). With time, things changes and meitei people are now more inclined towards India and are proud to be Indian. However, there will still be a faction of people who wants freedom as they were once before. So you must rethink about the theory of meiteis aspiration. Now for the last part as why Manipur govt has not given land to Naga and kuki needs a detailed explanation from my side but first I want to know abt u a little bit . Which part of the country ar you from?? And why religion do you follow??. Just let know this and then I ll explain you with context
