I’m a Brit and live in the Uk - daughter of Italian immigrants, post war. Saddened beyond words to see what is happening to our country and to the West. Brought up to love England and respect and honour the values. I discovered VDH a while back now and I seek his content out almost daily. At Christmas my only son bought us all his books as a gift! What a treat…😊 We lost our other son of 27 at around the same time that Victor lost his beautiful daughter. I so admire VDH. He has found a way to stay actively engaged in world events despite his heartbreak. And boy do we need him! He is inimitable and his analysis unmatched! I can’t imagine a world without him. I've become a big fan of him... Which I wouldn't have expected. I mean I'm an Aussie, in your age group, who spent my early working life in the mining industry before life took some twists and turns in a totally different direction and now I own the majority of a performing arts and entertainment production company that is growing faster than I can keep up with (I won't name which company, I like to keep a very low profile.) I have always been a musician, writer and generally driven to be creative. So I have a naturally liberal leaning personality. But it's been people like Mr Hanson here and the man who introduced me to him, the honourable John Anderson (who has a great interview show if you're not familiar with it) that have made me stop and listen to the conservative thinkers more and more. Maybe it's also because I'm independently wealthy now, much wealthier than I ever thought I'd be, but the only other wealthy people I come into contact with are in the arts and entertainment industries; who needless to say, are all obviously insane. All of my friends are blue collar guys, just like me really, who knows what it's actually like to work on the family farm each harvest driving trucks or working 12-14hrs on a drill and blast crew in an open cut mine in outback Western Australia. It's strange because from the perspective of a man in the mine, I'm sure it looks nice to have money and be in the nice clean office having meetings all day. But man, if I wasn't responsible for the huge machine we've built and all those people who risked their careers on me, I'd take working with the boys any day of the week. I say all that because my presence, as a blue collar guy at heart, has my industry peers on the authoritarian left very shaken up. They're used to money from the state, we've raised everything through the market and can influence our future without the government strings attached. Men like VDH and John Anderson have given me a sturdy and practical philosophical structure of politics to lean against and resist the temptation to enter into bargains with the state. I felt politically fatigued for so long, but now I feel like there's a chance to take back the reigns from the insanity and that's exciting to me.

All I can say is my life is an ongoing daily nightmare. My nightmare has been being made financially dependent on the government pensions of my parents here in Las Vegas. I cannot stand them, or my sister, her husband, or their sons. It is nothing but psychological torture hearing they are morally perfect people with perfect judgement, and have nothing but success. My life is a nightmare of epic proportions. I dream of someone getting me out of this situation. I have no desire to ever see these people, or talk to them ever again. I suspect the possibility that it has led to intense pain in my right arm and elbow. I am aggravated and miserable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and am very aggravated around the above people.

@ It is worse. Trump ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to release 1.5 billion gallons of water from two dams. He didn't coordinate it with anyone so it almost caused a flood. The water was wasted. Farmers needed that water for summer irrigation. This man is dangerous.

Yes!!! Just let THIS man, of ALL people, talk!! Perfect!!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻 This specific interview is one of the best and most important I have seen with Victor Davis Hanson. In this conversation he accurately lays out the entire reason Donald Trump will be one of the most historically significant figures in American history. He also articulates why people have eventually come around to supporting Trump once they get past the head games the left has been playing. The most important thing any interviewer of Victor can do is let him speak with a completeness of thought to its end and not bounce around so he is able to detail out the important nuances that in many cases brilliantly define proper context. Victor is an absolute treasure. Awesome. 😎

Victor David Hanson is one of the individuals that I have relied upon to give a clear, honest and humble understanding of the scope and politics in this country and also the world. The people of the United States voted their conscience, and VDH is able to articulate and simply explain why they overwhelmingly voted for Trump's return! Restoring integrity and honesty!

I am a former Republican moderate. I am also an academic and strive for rational debate. It is, indeed, nice to hear a the MAGA conservative point of view without the apocalyptic rhetoric I've heard from so many people who call themselves "conservative" (which is anything but "conservative" that I had come to revere in my 50+ years). Great points to consider, Mr. Hanson. I will incorporate them into my understanding of Trump's rationale.

I agree it was a great conversation. I now understand why the conservative establishment support Trump. But I would like to understand what they were saying and doing under the Bushes. What he describes is systemic corruption and elitism. I find it hard to accept there was no alternative to a Trump to achieve the realignment necessary...what it says about the political class is really worrying.
