People never understand how important it is to learn the history of another country in a very intricate manner, you’ll be shocked to know how much the CIA has invested their time in learning Indian history and our society for their intelligence apparatus (read their declassified documents). I was always curious about the colonisation of the Americas, I knew it was very dark and racist and when it comes to accuracy this series hits the nail on the head by revealing the truth of what really happened. everything from compiling the information, the exact timeline and pronouncing and remembering the names of the spaniards was absolutely spectacular! I eagerly look forward for more this! Thank You sir! 🙏🙏

I'm grateful for this series! When I first arrived in America from India, the differences didn't seem stark. However, after completing my graduation this December, I've come to sense a unique spirit that defines this nation. I'm eager to learn more about this country from an unbiased perspective, free from both Eastern and Western prejudices. That's why I'm particularly excited about this series. I'm currently based in Atlanta, Georgia!

Well, that was an eye-opener. 👀 Who knew the Spanish Reconquista was the spark for all that chaos? Narváez, Coronado, and De Soto? Total messes. 😅 Cabeza de Vaca’s story though? Didn’t see that twist coming. 🧠 I’ll admit, the whole 'gold rush' idea was more fiction than fact, but hey, greed never does disappoint. 😂 Definitely looking forward to the next one. Keep it coming. 🌍🔥

What an absolutely fantastic episode in the Understanding America series! The deep dive into the three major expeditions that ultimately led to the discovery of the American states as we know them today was nothing short of enlightening. The way the episode unraveled the events, connecting history with the present, was both captivating and educational. It’s incredible how much detail and context were provided-I never knew half of these fascinating facts, and now I’m left craving more to truly understand how it all began. Wow, just wow. This series keeps getting better, and I cannot wait for the next episode to uncover what happened next in this remarkable journey. Thank you for making history this engaging and accessible Abhijit sir!

Very interesting, shocking, and interesting episode 2 of Understanding America. The role of the Christian Catholic Church, brutality of Spanish, and their justification for subjugation of Non Christian now white native indigenous peoples of America is eye opening and a must for understanding the psyche of Modern American and Anglo Saxon Christian perspective. Brutal conquest, deadly diseases, the viewpoint of seeing non Christian natives as inferiors is quite visible. Must watch for everyone👍

Superb narration, Abhijit ... a tale of barbaric greed and avrice!👌👏 Being a huge fan of the old West, I particularly relate to your plains part of the story, Bison (Tanaka), how the Apache obtained horses and became the most fearsome warriors of their time. Natives called these brutal Europeans, 'Iron Shirts' One of my favorite, history based, fiction authors is Louis L'amour! 😃
@alani399221 күн бұрын
Everybody was brutal then. Native Americans were brutal on their own kin & other tribes, Brahmins were brutal against their own people etc. Well the West are not saints, but they reformed & invented the Modern World. Now we are selectively judging by Modern World education.

The Catholic Religion in the Americas in the Beginning was very Barbaric. Their Religion was very hateful and barbaric by relegating humans to slavery. It is a very sad part of History. The strong overpower the weak and enslaved them for their own gains. Wake up people and learn from History.

You are missing a great piece of history - "Black Gold - Black Pepper" . Black Pepper is the main reason for Spain and Portuguese to divide the world into half and go in search of India from which original BlackPepper was coming.. It was always traded from India to European countries via arab/Afghan and it was becoming costly for europian countries. they wanted to do trade with India directly for black pepper.
