Glad you brought this issue as part of your podcasts. You have mentioned the history properly but what is of deep concern is what India is now doing with Agalega, another sub island of Mauritius. Just because of years of lobby to gain access to one of our islands to turn it into a military base do not make India any different from what the British have done. The PM of Mauritius has been constantly lying to the population in parliament stating that the Indians on Agalega are there only to build the pier. What’s happening there is infuriating the Mauritian population from the over involvement in Mauritian affairs. Nobody is liking what India is doing in transforming the island into a military base.

These islands serves no strategic or political interest for India. We can't claim those islands anyways and they belong to the indigenous people mentioned in this video. Rather concentrate on utilizing the full potential of Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep improve maritime security and start offshore exploration for resources including oil in EEZ. Maybe improve ties with Mauritius and Seychelles for security co-operation. Repair ties with Maldives as well and hold on to neighbors like SriLanka.

There is a distinct possibility that this is where the real Lanka (Ravana’s Lanka) is. Per our epics Lanka was always at 0 degree latitude and longitude. The dateline was Ujjayini and Lanka was on the same longitude as Ujjayini - this much is super clear and consistent. I'm curious if India, the government, is maintaining its apparent posture regarding the Chagos Archipelago? They should probably keep it quiet publicly, for diplomatic reasons, but I think India was involved or supported Mauritius' efforts to reclaim its lost territory. India has also developed close ties with Mauritius, using its majority population of Indo-Mauritians. Are there many treaties/agreements? It seems to me that India has long been preparing the way for the UK's ejection from its last territory outside the Atlantic Oceans, while also laying the foundations for leasing Diego Garcia in order to secure the Indian Ocean for India. Diego Garcia being the established lynchpin for naval domination of the region. I imagine Mauritius would open to a good deal. The expulsion of the UK would only happen after the US decides that it no further use for a forward base that facilitates involvement in the Middle East and East Africa. If it's even currently possible, is India able to manouevre the US towards this objective? Is it possible/likely that India will grant Mauritius accession as a State? Or would India and Mauritius benefit more by using Mauritius as a financial hub/buffer through which to interact with East Africa?
