They All Burnt Their Clutch In Traffic | Spiti Ride 2022 Day 1, Part 2

Have you ever faced this - riding at 100 kmph on the highway, only to have some jackass in a car zoom past while looking for a race? Obviously, a car will be faster than most Indian small bikes in a straight line. But what happens when there is traffic, or worse still a toll or traffic jam? A biker always has the last laugh.
Here's an example of why I don't like to drive on Indian highways and prefer a motorcycle every time - it is just overall faster. You don't get stuck in traffic. You don't waste your time, you just find a path and carry on.
By the way, all the cars parked on the left side of the road with their bonnets open have burnt their clutch slipping it while trying to crawl up the highway in full traffic.

I am from Mizoram and find it very strange seeing people burning their clutches. We have heavy traffic and much steeper up and down hills road and people here hardly burn their clutch

Anyways I have been looking for yamaha T 700 since some time and i recently searched "Yamaha T700 India" on google and found the expected launch date to be July 2022 from top 2 or 3 result websites . I dont know the truthfullness of it though. But i really wish to buy it someday. (I think mentioning the name of the websites is getting my comment removed automatically) 🤣

I am not sure about automatics. But most city folk don't know how to slip the clutch properly and end up burning them in such long queues while climbing the mountains. Just sad.

Is it my imagination or were there a disproportionate number of Mahindras broken down / stopped on the side. We had similar traffic on some sections of Manali - Chandigarh route earlier this month post our Spiti ride. There were times on the ghats when even the left shoulder was not working out. Sad reality about traveling to the mountains up north.
