I first heard Abida ParveenSaheba when she sang Raag Malkauns and instantly liked her vibrant voice.There is so much of energy that she brings to her renderings.I have a CD of her ghazals,a very good collection.Somehow her transformation into Sufi music does not bring out the same effect which her ghazals do.A very great artist.

She had great potential, her early renditions are classics, I have this tape & I have heard her songs from that era countless times. However, with the time passing she drifted away. Now she is a very different figure.

If you can read URDU numbers it is from a Cassette dated back to 1983 (37 years ago) I own this & I have listened to this countless times, back then Faiz & Faraz were with us, FAIZ has remained a GOD next to GHALIB, Faraz & Nasir are the crown princes, let us divide the kingdom of URDU between these two CROWN PRINCES, Faraz & Kazmi they will reign forever as long a single heart loving URDU beats,.
