Beloved, allow us be nothing other than benevolent indifference to all that we are aware of, while gently abiding in the being of our awareness, in the presence of Your being. Amen.

How wonderful that "Awareness" can express itself thru Rupert using words that are totally in sync...I AM therefore I think...Namaste !!!

Everyone can do nothing BUT be awareness. Everyone is doing it all the time. It is beyond easy. However, everyone is trapped and believes in their thoughts/mind and follows each thought where they go.

easier said than done for me, any tips on how to not react or resist thought ?

@@Boutros6 As long as we are identified with these thought processes, which we usually call our "I", we live in this hamster wheel. Once these mechanisms become conscious, they lose their power. As far as I know, many spiritual teachers recommend regular meditation practice at this point. Already 20 minutes of serious practice per day can have a profound effect.

@@4321Wo Thank you for the fast response appreciate it. I understand it intellectually/conceptually but if i'm being honest no matter many times i tell my self, that 'i' pure awareness is not thoughts i still feel like thoughts hold power over me through the sheer uncomfortable feelings they bring with them. maybe the progress is more gradually i need to give it time.

@@Boutros6 Uncomfortable feelings can mean that a kind of "decluttering of the unconscious" is taking place. The healing of emotional wounds from a whole life may take time. Intellectual understanding is a useful tool, but I think it only scratches the surface and does not seem to be very helpful in this healing process. In my case too, progress seems to be happening only in small steps. Perhaps caused by constant distraction... and the mind is very clever in creating these distractions ;-)

If there is no “Doer” who’s the one that is trying to abide as awareness?

When there is trying involved, it must be the apparent separate self.

Love Rupert, but what on earth does "abide in awareness" mean? Who is abiding? If it were that easy, "everyone" would be doing it.

Its definitely that easy. Ppl make it difficult trying to wrap their "minds" around it

I found great wisdom and guidance in a few of Rupert's especially insightful videos. Here's a list. Watch through them and soak in them, awareness will reveal itself to you. The seamless intimacy of experience The knowing field of awareness Nothing can make you happy Whoeverso knows themselves knows their lord Bringing expectation to an end Awareness without objects Abide as awareness Collapsing the distance between God and ourself This is the knowing of your own being. Nothing could be simpler, more intimate than this. You reveal your eternal nature of peace, joy and love most clearly as you rest- not do. I hope this helps:)

That’s interesting to think about, abiding I guess means ‘knowing’. So in other words ‘Know you are awareness’. But that still doesn’t explain how knowing you are awareness takes away from the suffering of what you are aware of… If I am aware of a negative thought, that thought is still negative …

@@Boutros6 bit late but no, when you abide in your self (awareness) there is no such thing as a negative thought. It is simply a label or concept created by the mind, awareness doesn't know concepts. Hope that helps

I am sorry for complaining on a free video but the audio in this is beyond acceptable. It sounds like an illegal bootleg recording from inside the smelly pocket of an old man's trench coat sitting in the far back of an empty, echoey room. I can hardly understand a word.
