I find it rather amazing how the UK is a nation of Christian faith, where the military and royal family, gather together for a beautiful praise and worship service. America was founded by the founding fathers wanting freedom of religion and the freedom to worship, which they didn’t have in Europe. Now it’s gone far from our founding roots and people want nothing to do with God.

The UK used to send out more missionaries than any other western nation. Now it's one of the most atheistic countries on the planet.

I really miss these songs in church. It is Sad so many churches have taken hymns out of their services. Hymns that glorify The Holy Triune God & it makes us know ourself/our true Identity in His Cross only. Regards from Indonesia

I agree with you. I grew up to love the older hymns but I do love the new ones too. A hymn doesn’t mean old song, but it actually means a song of praise and worship to God. In Christ Alone is probably a modern day favorite of mine. God bless you!

Every year there is a fesstival of rememberence to pay tribute to all those who fought & lost their lives in the 1st & 2nd World Wars with many stories of same. Tributes are also paid to those still actively serving in different countries. The Festival usually takes place at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

This is the thing. Big events like this or say the last night of the proms are greatly celebrated but they are so lazy though. I'll explain what I mean. In Abide with Me there is a verse between "Swift To It's Close" and "I fear no foe" that begins with "I need thy presence". Why can we all not take the time to sing this, it's takes minutes? At the Last night of the Proms they sing the national anthem. But usually the sing both verses but because of lazyness they have axed "thy chociest gifts in store". It's disgraceful people have to rush themselves thus destroying a song. The songs aren't the same unless sung properly!!

the tempo is a bit too fast and a 'dignified' pause between verses is conspicuously missing.

The rendition was good possibly the recording was a little fast paced not the orignal pace it aught to have been set!

Had high hopes for this... Stopped less than 10 seconds in because of tempo! The speed ruins it for me- plus you can't enjoy the lovely harmonies as such a scurried pace
