Nice one, thanks! Yes, "Iine" means "so good" and it's related to the thumbs up "emoji" which, by the way, is another Japanese word (絵文字) meaning... emoji, lol. As already said, Su doesn't do the growls as they are on a backing track. We don't know who did the harsh vocals although we do know that Takeru Youda aka TAKEMETAL did the screams on their second album, Metal Resistance, as he mentioned on his social media. Just for fun, comparison and the shock factor here is an early live performance: "Iine!" (Sakura Gakuin Graduation Departures 2011): kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpanmKyrbqqorac (March, 2012). This one includes the original rap section (they usually replace it by the call and response). The version from Legend 2015 (New Year Fox Festival) from January 2015, has both the rap section and the C&R. 🤘🦊

Just a suggestion, when you react to an old BM song try to do a double reaction between the original or old video and the newer ones so you can compare. You could do that with Ine or Karate or Akatisuki and several other songs and usually viewers really like that. ( I do). Great reaction again Abi.

Haha awesome! iine was an early classic from 2011, and kinda phased out a few years ago. They brought it back for this show in 2023. Also, Su didn’t scream, unfortunately, that part is tracked. It was a fun thing back in the day, when they were little, and they only did it very occasionally. Speaking which, you’ll absolutely need to see the MV. They were “baby” Babymetal, and the song is way more poppy at the beginning, which makes the transitions even harder. Oh, and Su, Moa, and Yui all raps as you guessed haha. 🤘🦊

Abi, first of all I gotta say, girl you lookin' fine! Now that's out of the way, I really hope you thought this was "so good" and that you had a "sentimental night". I think someone asked them, "what genre do you want this to be?" and someone responded with, "yes!" It's a really interesting mashup of a few different genre's of music. The high energy beats are nice, and as you said, the choreography is just fun. This performance in particular I believe is one of the first times you hear Momometal's voice instead of any backtrack during the "wait wait wait don't take it before me". I imagine it had to be a real treat for the audience. There is footage of Moa when she's in the back of the train getting some serious air. That girl really puts her energy into this song! As another user said, it might be interesting to see how you react to the original MV of a song plus some newer live performance, or maybe an older live performance versus newer or some combination of "different", not that this is to be taken as a complaint of what you're currently doing. In any case, if you're still trekking along in the foxhole I think checking out the Sakura Gakuin version of Iine is worth a watch to at least see how far the girls have come since then. I finding checking out their early stuff even from their SG days gives me a greater appreciation of Babymetal in general. #notacult - but there's a reason why so many us find Su-metal to be our infallible queen. What to react to next? Not sure. You've done so much Babymetal content. Have you... done Rondo of Nightmare from Budokan? Or maybe Brand New Day from Foxfest?
@Abigirl_Reacts2 күн бұрын
Brand new day! I've yet to do that one, thank you for the reminder!

The "growl": Su is not doing them, or at least not fully... she is maybe adding to them? a bit? She actually did such "screams" in the beginings of some of their other earlier songs: DokiDokiMorning (high pitched) and IjimeDameZettai (more like a normal scream)

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。(You can refer to road-runner's comment about Su's growls.) As I discovered BABYMETAL on July 7, 2019 when both Su and Moa were older than 20, I am inclined to prefer later songs to juvenile ones, like you do. So "Iine" WAS not my favorite song. However, it IS now. Because I witnessed this very performance at the venue on April 2, 2023. The day when New BABYMETAL was born with Momometal. Momoko had been a support dancer for a long time. She had been performing professionally but with subdued presence without mic. Fans know that backstory. "Iine" is a playful, comical and girly song and it made Momoko look happy running and jumping with two elder sisters showing her ear-to-ear smile. What a good selection to play in the welcome party for the new member! Then this song became my favorite one. Some 12,000 audience thought "Iine!" then and gave multiple "Iine" signs = thumbs-up . 👍

Abi we love any Babymetal song and any performance of each song, but there are some songs that are more cute in original performances/videos than in recent performances, there are 5 songs that are the most most old on their catalog, those songs are “Headbanger”, “Megitsune”, “iine”, “IDZ”, and “Karate”, you’ve skipped the first 3 of them(original music videos), the song “IDZ” I think most of BM fans accept any performance(mostly 2014 performance) and I like the PIA Arena 2023 one with Momo on it, but I think *absolutely everybody* would prefer *the original music video of Karate* before any other performance no matter what time the performance is, so at least we hope “Karate” is the only song you can really pick the original version to react someday Abi, of course there are other memorable versions of the song but the original one is primordial🤘 Oh I forgot Doki Doki Morning(it’d also be cool to watch the original one but a recent performance of that song is cool too)

Just a note Abi, when you see Su doing a growl (even if Momo is on stage at the same time) it is because the growl is integrated in the original sound. The original version (Music Video from 2012) displays it perfectly, you get confused several times by the same thing because you prefer to watch/listen current stuff, many many growls are placed in several songs so you know it’s backtracked when Sue does it 😉 It’s good to watch current performances of old songs like this one which was released in 2012 or 2011 and performed in 2024, but some cute essences are missed due to the age of the girls, watching them run and play around when they were small is more cute than watching them do it on this song jus as example. It’s the only difference between watching a recent performance vs the original performance of a Babymetal song.

No, Su doesn't growl/scream. But you would get the context of her miming the growl of the Fox God from the original music video in this case.. despite the "immature voices" ;) The rap bit here they are saying MM because the full name of PIA Arena is PIA Arena MM (probably as the area is in Minatomirai in Yokohama) but if you saw them in say Miami they would go "Mi Am I!" for that bit as some crowd interaction. Again.. you get the full context of that rap interlude from the original music vid (even though yeah, of course BABYMETAL are always better live)

I didn't think did did but when she mimed it, well... haha

@@Abigirl_Reacts even MoiMoi are miming to the voice of the Fox God in the (very early and primitive) video 🤘🦊 I'm sure Queen Su and Princess Moa have tried their hand at the "death voice" vocals in the studio by this point.. as they have been exposed to it through interactions over the years with other bands. But they can't do it. Only when Princess Momo joined they gained a member able to do it.. and they talked enthusiastically in interviews about this new dimension to their sound I don't think anyone knows who does the Fox God death vocals in the studio.. I like to think it's KOBA-METAL himself

There are only a few tracks in BABYMETAL's discography where I'd say this, but the studio version / MV is a million times better than the drop-tuned sludge of the live version. This is a techno track with added guitar, but you'd never know from this mix. The original has a rap section rather than the tame crowd interaction part and the transitions between sections are far more extreme and comedic. All the harsh vocals are backing track here and as far as I can tell BABYMETAL did not perform them on the studio version either. Remember they were very young when making this track - the MV will hammer that home. Glad you've listened to it though - fun reaction as always. Live is usually a very good choice, but those early MVs get so neglected these days.

Their second Song, and even before they started to cooperate with Electric Callboy sime people realized a famiarity. Why Was there growling? In the music video it claims that Yui growls and then the techno parts. But the big problem at that time Eskimo Callboy was prett, much unknown even in Germany. But as Koba mentioned their was an additional Element his private record collection.

You have to view their old music video, then it is better to understand. In general at that age he had real problems to get the girls used to metal and the additional elements decreased their Sensitivität to metal. For the Girls it was mainly a wild mix of different elements.
