If it's confidence masquerading as self-deprecation then I'm fine with that, it doesn't change the fact I find arrogance masquerading as confidence a complete turn off in comedy, and the main reason why I don't find a lot of American stand up funny, even if it is 'what they're doing on TikTok', whose to say they aren't doing it to appeal more to a more lucrative American audience?
