Great video Steve, nice to meet you again, was a super day, fair play to you taking the big bike,Webby the lad who came off his GSA ended up with a partial dislocation of shoulder and 2 cracked ribs…. See you on the next one, thanks Simmo

Okay well that answers that question. Good luck and hope he recovers, and that he continue riding. I would suggest some training, I know in my case I can always learn more and will never give myself out as an expert, but training helped me to learn how to pick a bike up and step away from the bike where possible. I am not criticising anyone for their riding ability, I am just saying it helped me. And even after several courses I stil fell the other day and smacked my engine against a railway sleeper.

When I get my GS (I'm waiting a year or so to let the new bike bugs work themselves out), I won't be taking it offroad unless the zombies attack. But if that's your thing, run wild!

Between the 1300 GS and GSA at £25 to £30K, I would never go seriously off road. I’d buy something cheap and throw it around. I admire those that do, hope they enjoy the experience and hope they have very deep pockets.

Looks to be a proper offroad break-in, Steve... well done, and thanks for bringing us along. (Now if you can just find a mic for the camera... 😆 I know you will.) The countryside looks wonderful, and you handled the mud quite well. Unless you edited out your inadvertent getoff's. Yeah, you will truly enjoy your BMW Rider class, they have top notch training, and you can never know too much or be too good a rider, whether on the trails or on the tarmac. Build your strength, as there will be some picking up of the bikes! Have fun!

All on roads from what it looks, although some unimproved. Maybe there was areas not filmed. The bike is way more capable than this, but you probably know that. Don’t mean to insult anyone, just want your viewers to know the bike eat those roads for breakfast

It is a smaller bike… noticeably a smaller bike. I like riding off road, but on an even smaller bike. I bought the 1250 for its size and height. The 1300 is lower and doesn’t currently come in the8 gallon tank.

I wouldn't take a GS1300 out off road because of the fear of dropping it. Too expensive and too heavy. Country dirt roads is about the limit. That last section in the video looked like great fun.

I got R1300GS Trophy version with the sport suspension. It feels as good as my Touratech Evo suspension on my 2022 R1250GSA. There is a 4 mile dirt road that I ride all the time. I am faster on the 1300. It has a lot better feel in the front than the 1250. The front and rear of the bike seem to be more in sink. Plus it is easier to throw around than the GS Adventure. I do miss the fuel range of the GSA.

As a long term GS owner, 4 so far, the 1300 seems to have departed from what I most like about the GS; big, in your face presence, slightly intimidating. Its seems to have got smaller. I wanted bigger. I'm 6'5" and they optimized for shorter riders?
@ABIKETHING8 ай бұрын
I agree but I think we should wait for the GSA as I think this will suit yours and my requirements. This smaller 1300 chassis inspires more confidence for the trails for sure.

So a lot of people say they wouldn't take their R1300 GS off road. I am looking for a big Adventure bike for about 70% offroad and long distance touring, should I just stick with the tried and true R1250 GSA?
@ABIKETHING8 ай бұрын
If it was 70% off-road I’d want the 1250GS or the 1300GS. If it was 30% off road then I’d be inclined to choose the gsa but that’s me with very long legs. Gsa is fine off road but for whatever reason the 1250GS would be my preferred bike if it was 70% off road

I hear tjat if you have the factory fog lights, if you take them off to put the denalis, you get a fault code?

Correct. The fault is not due to the denalis. It’s due to the fact you have removed your factory lights. If you keep the factory lights and place and then add Denalis then you will not get any faults.
