Fast can serve the music just as well, it just depends on what the music asks for in specific moments or for specific purposes. You "less is more" people need to stop obsessing over that narrative. @@DiegoDeschain Yeah, in my opinion a good player is not about "playing slow that its so soulful" its more about knowing when to play fast or slow. I haven't seen a great player who doesnt do fast runs, even john mayer goes crazy from time to time. Andy timmons one of the most soulful players I've heard but he plays fast too. It's music after all, fast and slow is part of it
