I think the idea behind the experimenting with recipes is to make you think through what items might make that recipe, thus teaching you the recipe in short-term memory. Unfortunately, the recipes are often not intuitive enough...

I figured this to be the case upon trying it with recipe minigame enabled and disabled. Engaging with the recipes in the minigame seems to help remember some of the ingredients better. But probably only if you're actually thinking as to how they fit into the item, for mnemonics

Great tips. Here's what made me restart the game: 1. When I learned that you can gain building experience by "repackage" furnitures and hammer for disasembling them. Simply disasembler everything you see, the loot will never disappear 2. The big paper-cabinets have the largest storage capacity. Repackage them instead of building boxes for storage 3. Carying a lot of stuff will give you Strength XP (between the yellow markers) 4. You can chain cables with batteries

1. Loot does despawn if its not in a container, but loot is infinite in the portals so its not important even if it does 2. the storage crates you build can be stacked on top of each other giving far more space then any container in the game.

under the office where you got the basic backpack, is a tunnel where you get a security backpack with more slots. Just break the Windo and take the ladder down.

Another handy tip about breaking things: Broken weapons can't get MORE broken, and even though they do a lot less damage, they do still break down objects in the environment. It can be handy to keep a broken weapon on hand as a resource collecting tool. It's slower than using your good weapon, but you're generally going to want that damage more in fights anyway.

Better tip. Dont use weapons to break crates or PC's at all. Use the vacuum. It shreds most breakables extremely quickly and also sucks up the items into your inventory right away. Fastest way to farm computers and other crates.

Sandbox settings CAN be altered later on, here is how: - go into the save folder of your world and make a copy of the original sandbox ini file (as a backup, just in case). If your world has default settings, the sandbox ini file will be empty. - start a new world, adjust your sandbox options how you like them to be - go into the save folder of that new world, copy the sandbox ini file and paste it into the folder of your first world (overwrite the original sandbox ini file of your first world).

The best spot i found to build is above the office space you take the lift up and the jump to the duct area with a power plug so you can put a bench down

There is a secret area under where you got your basic bag in the offices with a bigger security bag. Just hop on to ledge at the back of that little office and climb down a ladder and it takes you in to a tunnel and the bag is in the room with a pest

resources do NOT respawn unless you change it in settings. The only way to get infinite resources is via the portal worlds, which reset every few nights.

I'm on a non modified save and a good chunk of the resources are 100% respawning. It seems to be based mostly on time, because I have had stuff spawn on the floor of my base constantly, and there is a desk outside my base that always has pens and rubber band balls on it. The desks other large set piece/storage objects and tools don't respawn as far as I can tell, but ground loot like staplers, rubber band balls, paper, plastic trays, test tubes, and pens I have all seen respawn plenty. There is actually a little store room in the kitchen going through reception that I have consistently come back to for test tubes, glass, and a few other random things. Mostly test tubes seem to spawn there.

one thing i didnt pick up on till late game. you can have multiple bases spread around the compound, just set a few tesla turrets facing inwards and they will stay safe during raids.

two things the area you showcased is right next to the easiest to get early game security backpack, and the images also unlock journal entries about the enemies/world. the main penalty for dying is loss of durability on weapons very harsh with the non craftable guns.

When it comes to washing, you can use fountains or pools or other sources of 'tainted water'. That electrified floor is a great way to kill some Security Robots for their CPUs when you're ready to build the Hacking Tool. Using the Makeshift Crossbow and supplying it with Makeshift Bolts helps level a lot of categories at once. While the character is bad at jumping, you can repackage furniture and 'climb' it to reach areas early.

Small bladder is presented as a negative perk, but as the only way to acquire one of the two ingredients used for soil bags, which are used to make those really powerful mug grenades. I always take it. It's secretly a good perk.

@@dankrigby5621 you can build a toilet you can harvest it from, but if you don't go to the toilet in time you'll just er.. drop it on the floor, and if you have some scrap plastic in your inventory you can pick it up in a little plastic bag.

It's not really a negative, but coworkers are kind of terrifying, I'm just doing my thing during the dark, and I turn to grab some scrap and I get jumpscared by this guy that silently approaches me in the dark. Maybe it would be less scary if they were walking around with flashlights or something like that, but they don't really serve any purpose in the first place, especially since feeding them doesn't really give you anything useful.

Managed to catch him in a door way with the pest nest located near the main portal. Then proceeded to hit him about 50 time till he dropped his skull nothing interesting yet just way too creepy and he was broken to the point he was just zooming around on all 4s

i just tested this be setting the game to always night in the sandbox setting, it does turn off, there is a vent on the floor passed it that can be broken that leads to items

I've been trying to power level construction just so I have a better chance to repackage these. ALSO putting things in your hotbar makes them weigh SIGNIFICANTLY less. Useful for water coolers, filing cabinets, most furniture in general.

if you go down the ladder outside the room at 8:21 there's a little room with a security backpack in it, has 3 more slots than the basic backpack you said to pick up right above it lol edit, I also recommend just using desk legs to break stuff, that way you don't break your main weapons all the time, and you can just package desks real quick to get a new one if it breaks (the desk will break most of the time and drop one instead of packaging)

You have to find/build a bed, or a 3 seat couch. You hold down E and youll lay down.

If you cannot find a bed or large couch nearby you can also simply sit on benches for a partial rest. Basically it will drop you from the 'rest in 90 seconds or DIE' state to the first tier of noticeable fatigue, but takes half a minute or so to do so.

there are other ovens in offices eventually you cant take one home or craft one yaself you need to explore more and gather stuff

Read computer terminals or grab tech loot and you should pick up an idea for a Makeshift Stove. You'll also need a Frying Pan and/or Pot for cooking. You can then preserve the food by placing it in a refrigerator. Both the stove and fridge require power though, so you'll want a battery to keep the fridge cold at night and possibly a power strip depending on the plugs near your bench.

The stoves sre not broken. You need a pan to cook. Place the pan on stove and then the meat on the pan.

Yeah, use the electrified water near where you can drop down into level 3 from some crawl vents. It kills them in a handful of zaps.

I was using a battery and chopinator (bring a hammer too). Set the chopinator in front of the robot in its pod and the battery slightly behind but dont connect it yet. Smack the robot in its pod til its comes out then quickly power the chopinator with the battery. Then just repair the chopinator with the hammer, making sure to keep the robot on the opposite side of the chopinator and presto. I was able to kill all 3 robots in the office sector in a single day on day 2 using this method.

Best way is to use the nail traps. Just place 3 or 4. They can be recharged with a box of nails and the box does not even dissapear.

Fully playable, just a touch clunky and unoptimized. From what I've read it isn't particularly optimized yet so it only hits 30 fps consistently on steam deck. It does have full controller support, but menus just use a joystick controlled cursor instead of proper d-pad support.

I'm playing on the OLED, works flawless. The graphical settings can be adjusted, I'm getting constant 60 fps with everything on medium, excepted for textures and effects on high. Would recommend setting the right trackpad to mouse.

yes, youll need to build a pest trap, and then wait for a pest to step into it. afterwards youll need to feed it nachos (they only like nachos AFAIK), and after approximately 3 nachos he will be your pet and you can pet him and make him follow you around.
