This is the best comparison I’ve found on KZbin. Answered a lot of the questions I had about the differences between these two bags. Thank you!

Once again another great, simple, useful, and straight to the point comparison video by Backpackies. You all make it look so easy to make concise bag videos, yet no else does it as well as this.

Would love to see the thirteen vs the daily plus if you haven’t done a review in comparison for them. 🎉
@BackpackiesАй бұрын
Great suggestion- that would be an interesting one since the Thirteen is like a mini Daily Plus

Good comparison. Really the Max EDC is a mid-point between the Able Carry Max and the Daily Plus. I already have the Max, and often it use it for EDC. Used it once for travel, and might again.

This was a really helpful comparison, thank you! There is one thing you missed that’s a pretty major difference between the two: weight. The Daily Plus is 2.65 lbs vs the Max EDC at a whopping 3.4 lbs. 3.4lbs is pretty damn heavy for an EDC bag. So even though the Max EDC meets my needs way better than the Daily Plus, the added weight makes it not quite so clear cut.
@BackpackiesАй бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out! The weight difference is definitely a key factor. Able Carry really tried to pack as many features into the Max EDC as possible but it came at a cost.

This video was exactly what I needed to know. I own (and have traveled with) the Daily Plus backpack -- and I really love it. But I was looking around for a bag that's just a bit bigger, and the Max EDC looks like a strong contender. Thanks for making this video!

Thank you for this video. I am stuck deciding between Max EDC vs Max. On one hand the larger front access compartment of Max EDC would be really useful for me as I carry few bulky quick access pouch/pouches. On the other hand, once we fill all the quick access compartments, the main compartment on the Max EDC seems to become very small. My intended use is for weekend trips upto max 2 nights. Which would you recommend?
@mistsriderАй бұрын
Have you tried both on? I found the original Max too large for my torso but I loved the features.

Hello! I tried out both packs this Friday. Was taking my personal load (around 7kg including backpacks' weight). Fit both pack well. But I finally chose Max. I would say there's not much difference between the two's layout (except the larger front pocket "opening" and more elastic inner pouches from the Max EDC). IMO, the key pros of MEDC is that it feels lighter when fully loaded, and it kind of resembles the slimmed-down, sleek shape of the Daily Plus (looking like a teardrop or triangle). The cons is that, with my load, it's almost maxed out. In addition, the laptop/work compartment feels very tight and there's no separators. I can only store my laptop at a time, or at most, a laptop with sleeve and an iPad. The pros of the Max is distinct-its overall large space. And personally, I kind of prefer the form of the Max (looking like a long trapezoid) to that of MEDC. The cons is its weight-it definitely feels heavier than MEDC but only by a little. I think one can do more with the work compartment of the Max because it comes with separate paddings/mesh. So you can literally put/organise all your work stuffs inside this one compartment-journal, laptop, thicker laptop sleeve, iPad, pens, printed documents. One final tip. I mentioned MEDC has a larger front pocket "opening" than Max. Indeed, I think MEDC just simply has a wider zipper "opening" than that of the Max. In terms of the overall front pocket "space," both feels very much the same. So it would come down to what you often pack in your front pocket. If you usually put long, wide stuffs in it, go for MEDC. If not, you still can put as many normal-sized stuffs inside the front pocket of the Max. Anyways, I suggest you try both packs in person. Let your gut feeling guide you😆!

@@asdsadvg-l3j Hello, which one you choose for max, Cordura Ripstop Black or X-pac?
@seemore4606Ай бұрын
@@asdsadvg-l3j I have the Max EDC only so I cant compare but I was considering both also and went for the MEDC based on the little tweaks / improvements they did but the ideal bag for me would a 28L MEDC. I would like an extra 2L as I can see the when I fill up the storage pockets it does use up some internal space - wish it was an inch deeper. But it's such a good quality bag though and it doesn't feel heavy when more full - the weight balance and comfort is excellent. I'll 90% use it for edc so it will rarely be full.
@natusMCMII25 күн бұрын
I prefer the Daily Plus for actual EDC use since the Max EDC to me is more like a small minimal travel backpack. The only thing I wish the Daily Plus would do like the Max EDC is to have a separate laptop compartment, but then again that would mean a waste of space for people who use the Daily Plus without carrying a laptop with them, so maybe the backpack is fine as it is.

Do you think the able carry max EDC can fit as a personal item sizer (18'x14'x8') ?
@BackpackiesАй бұрын
It's a bit oversized but you should be able to squeeze it under an airplane seat as long as you don't overpack it.

3:11 what size are those shoes? and do they eat into the main compartment space?
@BackpackiesАй бұрын
The shoes in the video are a women's US 8. The internal dimensions of the front compartment are approx. 10" W x 17" H (25.4 x 43.18 cm) and can definitely fit larger shoes.
@syn3rgyzАй бұрын
@@Backpackies so the front compartment protrudes outwards and doesn't take up the space of the main compartment?
@BackpackiesАй бұрын
@@syn3rgyz Yes, it expands outward and doesn't interfere with the main compartment too badly
